Best Cheap Class C Motorhomes

When most people think of motorhomes, the classic Class C design comes to mind. Here are five of our favorite cheap Class C motorhomes for 2018.

The Class C motorhome is the RV equivalent of the white picket fence, a golden retriever, 2.4 kids and apple pie. It is the classic American RV idea. These extremely popular motorhomes are characterized by the bunk over cab layout and a size that is slightly more compact than the large Class A motorhomes. A Class C motorhome is the perfect adventure tool for the family. It’s no secret that most RV rental businesses rent out this type of RV and you’ll find campgrounds packed full of them all across North America every summer. As with everything in life, Class C motorhomes cost money, and can be very expensive depending on which model and size you choose. However, there are some bargains out there and just because it’s cheaper, doesn’t mean you have to sacrifice quality and comfort. There are some truly good but cheap Class C motorhomes.

2018 Winnebago Spirit 22R

Winnebago Spirit

Can there be anything more classic Americana than a Winnebago Class C motorhome? Making it better is getting one for a really decent price. The Winnebago Spirit 22R is a very well-appointed motorhome with room to comfortably sleep five. It has the traditional over-cab bunk, a full-sized bunk in the rear and a sleeper dinette. There is a full kitchen and bath, too. The Spirit has a heated drain, to make sure that cold-weather doesn’t foul up your vacation, and a 1,000-watt inverter for powering things up. The awning is electric for easy setup, too. The Spirit 22R is built on the dependable Ford E350 chassis with a Triton V10 gas engine. List price is $87,588, but you can find them for around $65,000 or so. Not a bad deal for sure!

2018 Coachmen Freelander 28BH

2018 Coachmen Freelander 28BH

The Freelander from Coachman makes this list not by being the smallest in Coachman’s fleet, or by being the cheapest, but by being an excellent buy for the size. Sure, we could have added a cheaper one, but for those of you looking for a good but cheap Class C motorhome that can sleep up to eight, this is one heck of a deal! It has an MSRP of $94,701, but a little shopping around can lead to posted prices of under $70,000. That’s not a bad mark down if you ask me. This RV has two power slide-outs with a queen bed in the rear master bedroom and a sleeper sofa and sleeper dinette. There is an exterior grilling station and a 15K BTU furnace/air-conditioner system to keep you comfortable no matter what the weather outside is doing. This is a lot of RV for the money!

2018 Thor Motor Coach Compass 23TK

If you thought the other Class C motorhomes on this list were a good deal, check this one out. The Thor Compass 23TK carries an MSRP of $102,414, but we were able to track down quite a few with a nationally advertised price under $67,000. For that, you get an extremely well-appointed RV that sleeps up to three very comfortably. This unit has Thor’s Dream Dinette area that is very roomy and comfortable. The dinette is part of the RV’s slide out. In the rear of the Thor is a full-size bed and a full bath with shower. There is ample storage throughout. What’s better, this motorhome is built on a Ford frame and uses an I5 Powerstroke diesel powertrain, which means excellent fuel economy and lots of miles available for your adventures before the motor will ever need repair. This may be the best value for a retired couple looking to explore the countryside.

This Jayco Redhawk 26XD is a medium-sized motorhome that sleeps up to seven and has plenty of space for the whole family to adventure for extended periods of time. Two big slide-outs and a 12-foot awning expand the space even further. The rear master bedroom has a full queen-sized bed and there are two convertible sleeper areas along with the over-cab bunk. There is a full bath and a nicely-appointed kitchen area. The RV is built on the Ford E450 platform with a Triton V10 gas engine. This is another of those bigger Class C motorhomes that just packs in a ton of value for the price. The MSRP is $95,948 and once again, we were able to find online pricing of under $70,000 with relative ease. Sounds like a sweet deal to us.

2018 Winnebago Minnie Winnie 22M

It’s only fitting that we close this list out with another Winnebago. The Winnebago Minnie Winnie 22M sleeps up to six and has a powered slide out in the back for the full-sized bed in the master bedroom. There is a convertible sleeper dinette and the overhead bunk. This machine is built on the familiar Ford E350 platform with the Triton V10 gas engine. It has a list price of a little over $96,000, and we found them for around $72,000. This is the most popular platform for the rental fleets across North America, so you can always go rent one and try it out before you buy one so you can find the cheap Class C motorhome you are looking for.
