Airstream has announced a new social-media driven campaign it’s calling “Live Riveted”. The campaign will be anchored by a new microsite – http://www.liveriveted.com.

According to Airstream, Live Riveted is a platform that encompasses the excitement the brand was founded upon and the overriding theme that connects people from all walks of life to Airstream and the travel and outdoor adventure it inspires.

“Airstream founder Wally Byam not only created a timeless product, but he also inspired a lifestyle and dream for millions of people,” says Airstream, Inc. President and CEO, Bob Wheeler. “Wally challenged us to ‘strive endlessly to stir the venturesome spirit,’ and we believe the Live Riveted campaign captures this spirit and encourages everyone, whether or not they own an Airstream, to create their own adventures.”

Eddie Bauer Airstream - ExteriorWith more than 160 years of combined experience, Airstream and Eddie Bauer have partnered to create what Airstream is calling the ultimate adventure travel trailer, which was specifically designed to bring outdoor enthusiasts closer to Mother Nature in comfort and style.

The Eddie Bauer Airstream includes a unique sport hatch in the rear of the trailer. This hatch allows for easy loading/unloading of oversized equipment such as bikes and kayaks which can then be secured in the fold-away dinette/lounge area. The unit is also equipped with premium oversized Michelin tires to provide greater ground clearance and rugged wheel-well cladding to protect against off-road debris. A handheld exterior shower makes for easy clean-up for the traveler, their equipment, or their four legged-companions. Extra clotheslines and racks are intended for hanging wet clothing while durable exterior tie hooks are ideal for securing equipment or making sure Fido stays close by.

Eddie Bauer Airstream - HatchThe interior features an Eddie Bauer-inspired décor, including maple and soapstone laminates, fossilized leaf pattern roof locker doors, quilted fabrics with contrast piping, as well as durable and stain-resistant Sunbrella upholstery. The 25-foot trailer can sleep four people, and its queen-size bed comes with an Eddie Bauer Goose Down duvet, pillows, and throw to provide total comfort at the end of an adventurous day. And the rear sport hatch, with its roll-down screen helps bring the outdoors in.

airstream-bclass-lg1007Addressing a growing segment within the RV industry, Airstream has announced plans to bolster its Class B motorhome business. Airstream has reorganized its sales force and announced three key hires dedicated solely to the company’s new Touring Coach division, which includes the 2011 Airstream Interstate and Airstream Avenue motorized coaches.

Airstream’s focus on the Class B market is motivated by the growing strength of this segment. Statistical Surveys Inc (SSI) reports that year-to-date Class B sales are up 42.8 percent over 2009, illustrating the BVan lifestyle as a growing trend nationwide. As such, Airstream has restructured its sales force and hired  a general manager for its touring coach division, Tim Garner, along with two regional sales directors – John Huttle for the western United States and Scott Lucas for the east.

“Our 20 years experience building BVans combined with Thor Industries’ financial strength and these newly hired resources puts us in a position to grow our market share in this segment aggressively,” says President and CEO Bob Wheeler. “We feel strongly that the size, price, and fuel efficiency of these motorhomes will make them the ideal choice for many customers.”

1interstate0826Airstream has announced the debut of its 2011 Interstate 3500 Class B motorhome. The partnership between Airstream and Mercedes-Benz has yielded a Touring Coach that fuses the legendary quality and design of the Airstream brand with the comfort, control, and luxury of Mercedes-Benz.

Airstream has outfitted the Class-B Interstate 3500 with seating for eight, a kitchen, bathroom, and a convertible lounge area that at night becomes a bed for two. Bucket seats in the cockpit swivel to face a removable table that seats four at mealtime, and a 19” flat panel HD LCD/DVD provides on-board entertainment. The galley features a convenient 1.2-cubic-foot convection-microwave oven and a stainless-steel two-burner cook top that is flush-mounted under a glass cover. A 3.1-cubic-foot refrigerator is cooled by an AC/DC compressor that uses 90 percent less power than conventional RV models. Additional energy efficiency is obtained by using interior LED lighting.

The Interstate comes with a high-efficiency 13,500 BTU Dometic roof-mounted air conditioner, an optional 2.5-kilowatt Onan propane generator, and a 26-gallon fresh-water tank (with its own 6-gallon  water heater for taking hot showers and washing dishes). The unparalleled cargo capacity of the Interstate 3500 allows for greater continuous travel while the rear axle dual tires provide the stability to carry such weight.

1bambi0331Iconic RV manufacturer Airstream has been a hit the European show circuit with its new Bambi 422 travel trailer.

Airstream redesigned its new Bambi to handle the twisty European roads. At just 13.5 feet, the Bambi is compact and lightweight, which means you don’t need a big 4×4 vehicle to tow it – a Volkswagen Golf Diesel 2.0 or BMW 330i are just two examples of vehicles that are more than capable hauling the Bambi.

Constructed of steel and aluminum, the Bambi has that familiar Airstream look on the outside. On the inside you’ll find a lounge area, mid-mounted kitchen, shower cubicle large enough for six-footers, and a vacuum flush toilet.
