Prime Time Milestone

Prime Time Manufacturing recently shipped its 10,000th travel trailer produced by its Tracer/LaCrosse manufacturing group.

To celebrate the occasion, company leaders were on hand to serve lunch and thank over 160 employees for their efforts.

“Division 48 was the very first Prime Time plant we started in 2009,” says Jeff Rank, president. “That small group of employees had a commitment to build innovative, high quality products that customers would love to own. Now, that very same commitment to quality has become the foundation with which all of our employees and all of our manufacturing facilities operate. 2014 Tuscany XTE

Thor Motor Coach has unveiled 2014 Tuscany XTE and Tuscany Diesel Motorhomes, each with a brand new look. Fresh front and rear caps, along with new exterior paint packages highlight can be found throughout the Tuscany line for 2014.

According to Thor, the Tuscany XTE’s new front cap is engineered to maximize visibility for both driver and passenger. Thor says the front entry door is the widest in the industry.

New elongated residential tile floor, tiled kitchen backsplash, and LG Hi-Macs solid surface countertops round out the Tuscany XTE’s interior. New furniture styles include upgraded pillows, as well as new bedding and headboards in the bedroom. As well, all 2014 models have a premium Denver Mattress sleep system in the master bedroom. Class A Motorhomes Off-Road

If you are looking for a sign that the economy is on the upswing, the Recreation Vehicle Industry Association (RVIA) has announced that motorhome shipments have jumped more than 30% this year through May, while travel trailers are up 11%.

All told the RV Industry shipped a total of 144,015 units over the first five months of 2013 – a 13% gain. Towable RV shipments reached 128,037 through May, compared to the 115,204 shipped in the same time period last year. Motorhome shipments are up to 15,978 units, versus 12,250 through May 2012. Itasca Solei FCMA

Winnebago showed off its new Itasca Solei motorhome in front of hundreds of RVers at the Family Motor Coach Association’s (FCMA) Gillette 2013 Family Reunion in Gillette, Wyo. this past weekend.

The all-new Solei features a Freightliner XCS straight-rail chassis featuring a 340-hp Cummins diesel engine coupled with a six-speed Allison transmission. Inside, the Solei is outfitted with polished Corian galley countertops, coffee glazed cabinetry, LED ceiling lights and upscale entertainment features. Class B Motorhome

Things are looking sunny for the RV industry – at least according to a report given during the Recreational Vehicle Association’s Committee Week 2013, which ran from June 2-6, 2013.

Dr. Richard Curtin, director of the Consumer Research Center at the University of Michigan, provided the initial outlook for RV wholesale shipments in 2014 on June 3.

According to Curtin’s report, RV shipments to dealers are expected to climb 8.4 percent in 2013 and 3.9 percent in 2014. To put this in perspective, Curtin’s report speculates that 310 thousand units will ship in 2013, followed by 322 thousand in 2014. A total of 286 thousand units were shipped to dealers in 2012.

WIT Club Logo

Winnebago‘s WIT Club has announced its lineup of rallies scheduled for 2013. Highlighting this year’s events is the Grand National Rally held at Winnebago’s headquarters in Forest City, Iowa July 21 – 25, 2013.

Each rally is an opportunity to bond with friends, attend informative seminars and fun entertainment, meet with vendors, and tour points of interest in each state and region. Owners of Winnebago, Itasca and Winnebago Touring Coach motorhomes, as well as Winnebago and SunnyBrook towable products are able to participate in the Grand National Rally and all state and local chapter rallies. Owners who aren’t current WIT members are also encouraged to participate in these fun-filled rallies and may be a guest at a club or chapter event up to twice a year without becoming a member. Rand McNally’s RV GPS navigation will be featured as part of the new X1 family of infotainment systems in 2014 Winnebago, Itasca and Winnebago Touring Coach motorhomes.

Winnebago Travato Touring Coach

The new Winnebago Travato is built on the Ram ProMaster chassis.

At a recent dealer event in Las Vegas, Winnebago unveiled several new models, including a whole new motorized product line.

The Winnebago Touring Coach line joins Winnebago and Itasca to make up the three motorhome product lines of Winnebago Industries. Winnebago Touring Coach includes the very successful Era product, which is built on the Mercedes-Benz Sprinter chassis, as well as the new Travato Class B product built on the new Ram ProMaster Chassis. The Travato is a new fuel-efficient entry into the Class B market with fuel economy of 15-18 miles per gallon.

To expand on the launch of the affordable Class A gas Winnebago Vista and Itasca Sunstar 26HE, the Vista and Sunstar lineup has expanded to include the new 31KE model. Offering the same value traits, the 31KE is intended for couples or families on the go with a U-shaped dinette, mid-coach TV and walk-around queen bed.

Winnebago Industries has also grown the recently launched Winnebago Minnie Winnie and Itasca Spirit family, with the new Minnie Winnie Premier and Spirit Silver models, providing upscale features and amenities, as well as eye-catching exterior deluxe graphics. Read Full Story →
