rv-showIf attendance at RV trade shows is any indication, consumers may be ready to start buying recreational vehicles again.

According to Pedata RV Center, RV shows across the United States and around the world are seeing an increase in attendance with people ready and willing to buy. Though the first half of 2009 was slow, rentals and motorhome sales at RV dealers are on the rise, which could be an indication that the industry is starting to turn around.

Caravan Salon Dusseldorf, the world’s largest RV show, attracted record crowds during its August 28 to September 6 run. Caravan Salon hosted a reported 161,200 visitors from 37 countries. Of those, 49% reportedly came with the intention of buying, according to RV Business. Klaus Förtsch, president of the Caravanning Industry Association (CIVD) attributes the interest to more economical options and lighter weight materials.
