RVDA Partners With Rand McNallyRand McNally and the Recreation Vehicle Dealers Association of North America (RVDA) are working on a project that should help RV enthusiasts easily find service providers and RV dealers while they’re on the road. The information, available this summer, will be included in new mobile phone apps and website maps and directions, as well as on board Rand McNally’s TripMaker RVND GPS units.

“RVers have unique service needs while on the road; providing RV dealer information across North America in a variety of formats will certainly assist them whether it’s an emergency or a routine visit,” says Dave Muscatel, CEO of Rand McNally. “RVers will be assured of top-tier service provided by RVDA member organizations.”

Rand McNally is developing a dealer-locator application for iOS and Android mobile phones. This app is designed to enable users to access a listing of nearby RVDA member dealers across the U.S. and Canada. Each listing will include critical information such as hours of operation, contact information, and services provided, as well as up-to-the-minute deals and specials available. Marketed by RVDA to their membership, this app will be available mid-summer, 2012.

Prime Time Manufacturing has been notified that it will be receiving the prestigious Quality Circle Award from the Recreation Vehicle Dealers’ Association (RVDA) for the second straight year.

Three Prime Time brands – LaCrosse, Tracer, and Crusader – will be honored during the “Celebrate Excellence: All-Industry Gala” at the RVDA National Convention on October 5, 2011. Each of the brands was recognized for scoring 80 percent or above in overall dealer satisfaction as measured in the Dealer Satisfaction Index (DSI) survey conducted by RVDA. The DSI survey, which determines the Quality Circle Award winners, rates manufacturers’ performance in eight core areas: vehicle reliability/quality, parts support, dealership warranty support, vehicle design, sales support, sales territory, competitive price/value, and overall dealer communications.

rvda-sm0426Representatives from the Recreation Vehicle Dealers Association (RVDA) of Canada were on Parliament Hill recently to highlight the need for a solution to the emerging credit crisis in the retail RV sector.

“Last year, we voiced our concerns about the unprecedented credit crisis. Our 420 dealer members reported the lack of floor plan financing as the biggest concern facing their businesses in 2009, and this trend is continuing in 2010,” says Kim Stone, RVDA of Canada Chairman of the Board. “This is extremely difficult to grasp, as more and more Canadians continue to move towards the affordable and flexible travel offered by RV ownership.”

The RVDA of Canada hopes to work with the government to find a credit solution.

“The RV industry recognizes recent measures taken by the Government of Canada to help alleviate the financial crisis,” says Stone. “However, a more targeted approach is needed to meet the specific needs of the RV industry.”
