The Coachmen Viking Trailer is easy – easy to set up, store, use and enjoy.

With the strength of a Viking and the comfort of home, the expandable Viking Trailer is as reliable as it is comfortable. Fourteen floorplans are available to choose from; we decided to explore the Legend 2485SST. It has a hitch weight of 282 lbs, unloaded vehicle weight of 2,620 lbs, gross vehicle weight rating of 3,508 lbs, and cargo carrying capacity of 888 lbs. For measurements, the Legend has an exterior open width of 24’5”, exterior closed length of 18’5”, and exterior closed height of 4’7”. Finally, it has a fresh water tank capacity of 23 gallons.

Built on a tubular steel frame, the Coachmen Viking Trailer Legend features a Goshen Lift System with double arms. It has radial tires, aluminum rims, and scissor jacks with pads. Wide Trac UltraLube suspension gives the camper a wide stance, while improving towing safety and increasing stability. The Legend also comes with a heavy-duty dolly jack, which is equipped with a wheel, along with electric brakes, and Dual Drive Winch by Canimex.

On the outside, the Viking Camping Trailer looks cute and compact. Its exterior is made of laminated hi-gloss fiberglass walls and diamond plate front wall protection. Its four-layer laminated seamless fiberglass roof is prepared for A/C, which is perfect if you plan on camping in the hottest days of summer. The Create-a-Breeze power roof vent keeps the air flowing inside, while the tinted safety glass windows give you privacy. A Super Sliding Storage compartment and exterior storage access doors aid in convenient and clutter-free travel. To increase safety on your camping trips, you can turn on the amber patio lights. The Legend also features Zero Exposure floor and bunk technology and diamond plate front wall protection. When you’re ready to call it a day, step on the E-Z swing stepper, walk through the one-piece screen door, and head for the lounge sofa.

Located in the living room, the lounge sofa sits on 100% Adhesion Residential Grade Linoleum floors. Across from the lounge is the kitchen – a small space with the essentials: microwave, three-burner range stove, sink, and residential laminated countertops. If you request the Essentials package, you will also get a three-way Dometic 2.5 cu. ft. fridge. Deep maple cabinetry has Mortise and Tenon residential cabinet doors, warming the space and making it feel like a cottage home.

Speaking of space, you won’t run out of storage space in the Legend 2485SST, because storage is located beside the lounge and beside and below the dinette. When breakfast is ready, enjoy it at the 45” by 74” dinette, which sits next to a large window. This means you can enjoy meals while looking out at the forest, beach or parking lot – whatever your setting. For your entertainment needs, the Legend is equipped with HD Park Cable hook-up.

While not exactly elegant, the bathroom features the essentials, including a built-in shower and Thetford Cassette Potti. Although space for toiletries and linens is limited, you can put your things in the storage area just across from the bathroom.

When it comes to beauty sleep, the Coachmen Viking Legend delivers beyond our expectations. Instead of cramming friends and family members on floors, sofas and tiny beds, you have a lot of sleeping space to work with. The Legend features two King-size beds with insulated bunks; a lounge sofa adds one more spot for sleeping. Since the Legend is designed for camping, it is equipped with powdercoated interior tent support poles. Its VRX sectionalized tent has Storm Cuff, which prevents rain and wind from creeping inside the tent.

For those that want more than the standard model, Coachmen offers plenty of options. Under the Essentials package, your trailer will be equipped with a 20,000 BTU furnace, A & E awning, 7” high pressure LP accessory hose, and spare tire, equipped with a carrier and cover. You can also request a screen room with privacy flaps and hanging storage cabinet.

The Coachmen Viking Camping Trailer Legend 2485SST sells for around $15,000. For more information visit: http://www.coachmenrv.com/.
