2011 Forest River Georgetown 374F Review
The open road awaits
Boasting long-lasting durability, performance, and innovation, the Georgetown offers impressive value. Available in eight different floorplans, we’re going to be taking a closer look at the 374F model, the second largest in the series.
Structurally sound, the Georgetown comes equipped with aluminum framed openings, laminated aluminum framed sidewalls and roof and an under floor steel truss system. Also adding to its durability is its Insulated, formed one-piece baggage doors and 3" laminated, steel framed floor, complete with ducted heating.
Built on a Ford or Workhouse chassis, the 374F measures in with a length of 37’ 9”, an overall width of 101,” an interior height of 80” and an interior width of 95 ½” – plenty of room for family and a few tailgaters. Complete with a one-piece laminated fiberglass roof and high-gloss gelcoat fiberglass sidewalls, the Georgetown looks sharp while hanging tough.
The exterior accruements continue with side-hinge baggage doors, Rotocast one-piece storage compartments and automatic hydraulic leveling jacks. Its 30" entrance door gives you plenty of room to come and go as you please, and cable T.V. and phone jacks give you the option of staying in touch with what’s going on in the “civilized” world. Add to the package an electric entrance step, a rear ladder, an outside shower, a slideout room awning, two coach batteries and a main power awning, and this RV comes with all the necessities needed to make your vacation that much more memorable. Popular exterior options you can choose to add on include A&E electric power awning, remote heated mirrors, and color side cameras.
Helping to keep your surroundings comfortable, the Georgetown comes with a ducted in-floor heat 35,000 BTU furnace, a Fantastic roof vent, a power ceiling fan in bath and a 13.5 BTU ducted roof air conditioner. You can always choose to upgrade to 15K air conditioner in the front of the coach and a 13.5K air conditioner in the bedroom. Giving you plenty of power is a 50 amp 120v distribution panel and cord, a 65 amp 12v power converter and a 6.5 Generac generator. And there will be plenty of hot water at your disposal thanks to its water filter system.
The 2011 model sees striking exterior changes. Giving it a fresh look is its one-piece windshield and a redesigned grill complete with chrome accents. Add to that a deluxe graphics and a full body paint option in either Midnight or Espresso, and you’ve got yourself one fine looking class A motorhome.
Step inside, and you’ll be treated to modern, clean lines that make the most of its interior design. From the driver’s seat, you’ll notice how comfort and convenience is all around you. From the cushiness of the captain’s chairs to the ergonomic styling of the dashboard, driving to your next destination is always an enjoyable experience. To get things going, it comes with an auxiliary start switch and so you’ll always see where you’re going, there’s also defroster fans and driver/passenger map lights. If you want a little alone time, just pull the front wrap-around privacy curtain. Other cab features include an AM/FM/CD players and a rear vision camera with monitor and audio. You can also choose to upgrade to optional driver six-way power seat.
The living and dining area flow seamlessly into each other – which makes it quick and easy to go from watching the big game to enjoying a big meal with the family. And the game will come in perfectly on the 32” LCD/HD TV and home theater. Have a seat on the Euro recliner with ottoman or the soft touch leatherette Hide-A-Bed sofa with air mattress, for those guests that just don’t want to leave.
For your cooking pleasure, the kitchen comes with everything (and maybe even a bit more) than you have at the one at home. Here, you’ll find a 30" OTR stainless steel microwave, 9' curved door stainless steel refrigerator, a stainless steel oven with sealed burners and a recessed range. Getting the meal ready is never a problem, thanks to a solid surface countertop, an undermount stainless steel sink with flush solid surface covers and a pull-out sprayer faucet. Once dinner is ready, gather around the free-standing dinette for great eats and conversation. Other kitchen features include flush mount halogen ceiling and accent lighting, satellite prep and a slide out pantry.
A home away from home, the spacious master suite takes style to the next level, thanks to limestone-look columns and pleated drapes. Outfitted with a 60" x 75" island king sized bed with bedspread, headboard pillow shams and storage below, a optional 19" LCD TV, day/night shades and radius corner mattress and bed base, this may well become your favorite room in the Georgetown.
Next to the master suite is roomy bathroom, complete with twin vessel sinks and high-definition countertops. Combine that with the one-piece fiberglass shower and seat, dual control shower faucet with flex head, linoleum flooring, a medicine cabinet and a porcelain toilet with foot flush, and you’ve got all the essentials needed in a fully equipped bathroom.
Other optional features you can get with this model include a washer/dryer, dual pane windows and a convection microwave.
