If you’re a family man, you need to think big when buying a trailer. Travelling with kids can be a hassle. They get rowdy and impatient, especially when they feel stuck in one place for prolonged periods of time. You need to find something with plenty of space and plenty of beds. Although most family travel trailers are heavy and expensive, the 2013 Keystone Cougar Xlite combines  space, luxury, and towability. Its spacious interior comfortably sleeps up to 10 people and you don’t need a tow truck to travel with it.

The kitchen is arguably the most important room in a big family’s home. You can choose the executive chef’s kitchen, which will feel no different than the one you have at home. Its hand-glazed maple cabinets create a cozy feel.  The cabinets, coupled with a large pots-and-pans drawer, give you plenty of storage space. There’s also a full sized pantry, great for hiding large, cumbersome objects. The refrigerator is barely noticeable because it’s hidden behind a residential raised panel refrigerator front. It blends in with the beautiful maple cabinetry. The deep kitchen basin stores a lot of dirty dishes and there’s plenty of counter space to prepare meals. If you're having a lazy day, you can just heat TV dinners in the microwave oven.

Enjoy your meals at the “Smart Slide” freestanding dinette, located across from the kitchen. If you can’t seat your whole family comfortably, some of your family members can eat on the Hide-a-Bed sofa, located right beside the dinette. The oversized windows give you a beautiful view of everything that is going on outside, whether it’s a barbeque party or a calm lake in the countryside. If site seeing isn’t your thing, shut the blinds and turn on the 32” LCD TV. You can listen to music via the True home CD/DVD system with speakers and separate zones. There’s also an MP3 player hookup on the stereo.

If you and your partner need a little privacy, escape to the Master Bedroom. There’s a Queen-sized bed surrounded by wardrobes, which gives you plenty of storage space. There’s also room above the headboard for nick knacks and electronics. An Easy Access laundry chute is hidden in a wall of the room, so your dirty clothes don’t have to pile up on the floor. You can watch TV from the bed because the revolving 32” LCD television can conveniently revolve right into your room. Your kids can sleep in the double bed bunk, located near the dinette. The beds have curtains to block out light from the rest of the trailer.

There’s plenty of walking space in the bathroom so getting ready in the morning is comfortable. You can take a quick shower in the Residential shower/tub or put on some music, light a few candles and take a hot bath. The Residential porcelain toilet has a foot pedal for easy flushing and the sink gives you ample counter space for grooming.

The Cougar Xlite is built for families who love camping. It makes outdoor living easy and fun. If your family loves barbeques then use the outdoor grill to cook meat and blast some music from the All Weather outside speakers. To shorten shower lineups, use the outside shower. If you’re getting home late, the step lights will help you find your way into the front entrance. There’s also a large security light so you can always see what’s going on outside your door.
