Boasting quality, innovative features and value, the KZ Sportsmen fifth wheel has plenty of room for friends and family to get away from the city and explore the great outdoors.

2012 KZ Sportsmen Kitchen

In the fifth wheel series of the Sportsmen, there are eight floorplans to choose from. We will be taking a look about the S315BH, one of the larger models in this line. It has an exterior height of 11’11”, exterior width of 96”, exterior length of 33’1”, and interior height of 91”. As well, it has a 30,000 BTU furnace and a 13,500 BTU air conditioner.

Built using heavy duty I-beam frame construction, the Sportsmen employees a host of durable materials to ensure it will provide you with years of great camping memories. On top, there’s a seamless one-piece roof, 3/8" decking, 4 1/2" wood truss rafters and R-7 batten insulation. On the floor, it uses Darco moisture barrier underbelly, plywood floors and 16" O.C. floor joists. And surrounding this fifth wheel is 2x2 wood frame front and end walls, extra-thick .024 metal siding, R-7 batten insulation, a diamond plate front plate and decorative luan wall board.

2012 KZ Sportsmen Dining Area

It’s not just the Sportmen’s construction that is tough.  There’s a lot riding on this fifth wheel – that’s why it features heavy duty leaf spring axles, heavy duty steel wheels, easy-lube axles and Dexter Nev-R-Adjust brakes.

Other exterior features of note include tinted safety glass windows, TV antenna with booster, rear bumper with sewer hose storage, enclosed pin box, smooth screwless baggage doors, two exterior speakers, awning with drip rail and spouts, and triple-sealed slideouts. In the way of options, you can upgrade with four stabilizer jacks, 30-pound gas bottles, fiberglass sidewalls, assist grab handle, black tank flush, bottle cover, gas/electric DSI water heater, bike rack/cargo carrier, winter by-pass kit, ladder, power tongue jack, and satellite preparation.

2012 KZ Sportsmen Bunks

Inside the Sportsmen S315BH, you’re treated to Dune or Mesa décor, highlighted by Legacy Cherry cabinetry that features solid wood framed Mortise and Tenon glazed cabinet doors. The interior is further enhanced by mini blinds, border accent tape, dome-style decorative lighting and box-style decorative valances and lambrequins.

The Sportsmen’s living area comes with everything you need to take it easy. A Jiffy sofa, outfitted with decorative pillows, is the ideal place to watch the big game on the optional 26” LCD TV or listen to the AM/FM CD player. Right next to it is the U-shaped dinette, perfect for family meals or game night.

Right across from the living area is the kitchen, complete with a three-burner cook top, microwave with turntable, 5-cubic-foot refrigerator, and range hood with 12V light and exhaust fan. To get meals ready or to clean up after, this kitchen has lots of countertop space and an acrylic double sink. As well, you’ll find plenty of cabinetry to store all your cooking essentials.

2012 KZ Sportsmen Bedroom

What’s great about the Sportsmen S315BH is that it has a ton of extra sleeping space, perfect for the kids or overnight guests. On one side of the bunk house, you’ll find a top bunk, bottom bunk, and trundle bed. On the other, there’s another bunk, along with a closet and entertainment center.

On the other end of this fifth wheel is the bedroom. Leading up to the bedroom are two steps, which give it a real-home feel. The queen-sized bed can be upgraded with a Katching ZZs mattress. The bedroom also comes with two bedside tables and an entertainment center that houses an optional 19” LCD TV.

The last stop on the tour is the bathroom, which comes with all the essential features: a bath/shower combo, toilet, and lav sink. It even comes with a built-in medicine cabinet with mirror, tub surround, and a skylight over the tub.

Other interior options you may consider adding on include a hide-a-bed, bunk ladder and railing, Fan-Tastic vent, oven, one or two recliners, stereo with DVD player, table and chairs with leaf, and night shades.
