With four floor plans to choose from, the Rolling Thunder comes in a size that fits your RVing lifestyle to a “T.” We’ll be taking a tour of the H397RGR, the largest model in the series. It measures in with an exterior length of 42’, an exterior height of 153”, and an exterior width of 100”. It also comes with a 10-gallon water heater, a fresh water capacity of 85 gallons, gray water capacity of 82 gallons and waste water capacity of 41 gallons.
Boasting its Accu-Slide system, the Rolling Thunder’s lightweight design promotes fuel savings while offering more storage area. Its above-floor design minimizes maintenance requirements and a high strength stainless steel aircraft cable gives you more control. Safe from the elements, all of the Accu-Slide system’s working components are in your RV, safe from the elements, and its smooth, quiet room movement means no jumping or jerking.
Built with an aerodynamic front cap that’s engineered for maximum turning radius and minimum wind resistance, the Rolling Thunder features a five-sided welded aluminum superstructure for its walls and floor and a 2" laminated high gloss automotive metallic finished exterior wall to keep it looking sharp for years to come. Finishing off its tough exterior are 5" roof truss rafters, a TPO rear bumper, a one-piece TPO under-hitch area and an enclosed underbelly, which comes with heated and enclosed holding tanks, as well as dump values and in-floor heated and enclosed water lines.
With plenty of room to bring everything you need to make the most of your time outside, this Open Range toy hauler comes with oversized clean and clear heated exterior pass-thru storage that feature double insulated 1" thick radius baggage doors with continuous one-piece hinge and interior fasteners. For your convenience, there’s also a utility convenience center that’s equipped with a compartment light, black tank flush, city water connection, cable/satellite hookup, one pin receptacle, outside shower, water line shut-off valves, sewer hose storage and dump valves.
To get you to your destination smoothly, the Rolling Thunder has Custom Dexter Wide Stance E-Z Lube axles, EZ Flex suspension, 16" aluminum 6-lug wheels and radial tires specifically designed for RVs. Once you get to your destination, its wide stance front jack legs with adjustable spring-loaded jack pins and 4-point leveling system make for an easy setup.
Other exterior features that come in handy include a battery disconnect switch, black frame deep tint safety glass windows, large triple entry steps, dual outdoor security lights, extended gutter spouts, winterizing siphon hose, water heater bypass kit, easy slide-out LP bottles with auto change-over and under-mount spare tire and carrier.
With the 2011 Open Range Rolling Thunder, no interior comfort gets left behind. In the living area, where you’ll be doing the bulk of your lounging, you’ll find a residential-style entertainment center and Euro recliners. No detail has been overlooked, from its high-density carpeting, padding and upholstery, to its designer rod and curtains – the Rolling Thunder truly is your home away from home. Plus, its 6'5" super-tall slide rooms gives you even more room to enjoy yourself.
Worried about how you’re going to feed yourself and your family while on the road? There’s no need – the Rolling Thunder will help keep you stocked up with great eats. It comes equipped with an 8-cu.-ft. Norcold double-door refrigerator with exterior adjustable thermostat, a high output range with automatic igniter and 22" oven, and a lowered microwave for easier access. For your storage needs, it features residential oversized cabinets with upper and lower crown molding, a pull-out pantry, a pot and pan drawer under the refrigerator and real wood drawers with full extension metal guides. Finishing off this stylish room, you’ll love the Corian solid surface countertop and matching solid surface sink cover, soffit above sink with flush mount halogen lights, residential-style toe kick on cabinets, a wine rack, Beauflor resilient flooring and a U-shaped sofa lounge with removable table.
For your resting pleasure, the Rolling Thunder comes with a fully equipped bedroom that makes all your dreams come true. A Posterest pillow-top residential queen mattress will send you off to sleep in no time. Never worry about what you’re going to wear, because the bedroom has room to store all your clothing essentials, including a chest of drawers, shelves and a mirrored wardrobe.
Next to the master bedroom is the opulent bathroom. You’ll linger in the neo-angle shower with glass enclosure. It also features a porcelain toilet with foot flush, a full-sized vanity with glass vessel faux sink and a residential-style wood medicine cabinet with vanity mirror. Other amazing amenities include Beauflor resilient flooring, solid surface countertops, a skydome over the shower, a portable laundry basket and a linen closet with washer/dryer prep.
If you want to go over the top with your RV, the Rolling Thunder comes with plenty of extra options. These include a central vacuum system, bar stools, a 5.5 Onan generator, dual pane windows, a second 15,000 BTU ducted air conditioner, slide out awning covers, a pull down screen door, double electric beds with a two-way sofa/bed and a garage entertainment center.
