2015 Northwood Fox Mountain 325RKS Review

Lightweight fifth wheel loaded with creature comforts

The Northwood Fox Mountain fifth wheel is for those who want to hitch up and go. Its lightweight design and residential interior make your journey comfortable so that you can focus on the excitement of the destination.

Out of three floorplans, we will explore the Northwood Fox Mountain 325RKS. It has a dry axle weight of 8,065 lbs, dry hitch weight of 1,815 lbs, net carrying capacity of 3,120 lbs, gross dry weight of 9,880 lbs, and gross vehicle weight of 13,000 lbs. For measurements, the Fox Mountain 325RKS has an exterior length of 34’11”, interior height of 8’2”, exterior height of 12’10”, and exterior width of 8’. For liquids, the Fox Mountain has a fresh water capacity of 59 gallons, gray water tank capacity of 40/35 gallons, and black water tank capacity of 36 gallons.

Constructed on an independently certified off-road chassis, the Fox Mountain has fully welded, thick wall aluminum frame construction and one-piece Corona treated, continuous fiberglass. Its multi-layered substrate walls are laminated in Polyurethane. It has high-density block foam insulation and E-Z lube axles with NEV-R Adjust Forward, self-adjusting brakes. The Fox Mountain is equipped with an Equaflex axle suspension system and powered sliding stab jacks.

Style was clearly a factor when designing the Fox Mountain, as the exterior features ebony accents, tinted safety glass windows, and diamond plate bumper wrap. For convenience, Northwood included an exterior ladder, shower, and security light, along with an exterior Convenience Center. LED exterior lighting will help you see and be seen, while the large exterior entry grab handle will make it easy to get in and out of your home. The entry door comes with a friction hinge.

Moving to the bedroom, the floors are covered in a bedroom carpet with a pad, which will keep your feet warm on cooler nights. A Fantastic vent comes with a remote and rain sensor. You won’t have to worry about your clothes wrinkling, because you can store them in the wardrobe and shirt wardrobe. Nightstands are located on either side of the 60” by 80” bed.

If you want to relax but you’re not ready to go to sleep, then kick back in the living room. You won’t have to fight for a spot on the couch, because ample seating is available for the whole family. You can choose between the L-shaped sofa bed with a recliner or one of two swivel rocker-recliners. A booth dinette can be upgraded to a freestanding dinette. Overhead compartments in the living room are perfect for storing electronics and knick-knacks. Living room seating gives you a great view of the entertainment center, which has a 39” 110/12v LED TV and an AM/FM/CD/DVD Player with Bluetooth. The contemporary fabric and deco will make you feel like you’re living in an interior designer’s fantasy.

Located beside the living room is the spacious kitchen. Residential appliances and smart layout will make cooking an easy task. Solid surface kitchen countertops provide ample space for chopping and mixing, while the double sink can hold a lot of dirty dishes. All appliances are stainless steel, including the built-in microwave, high output three-burner range, and fridge. Adding to the kitchen’s elegance, there’s a fan and Fox Mountain backsplash. The kitchen also features a large walk-in pantry, which is uncommon in most RVs. If you plan on travelling in a large group, you might want to request an extra large, eight-cubic-foot fridge.

Last but not least is the bathroom. Like any RV bathroom, this one gives you the necessities. You get a porcelain, foot-pedal toilet, and Fantastic exhaust vent in the linen cabinet. To save electricity, you can keep the lights off because there’s a bath skylight. The shower comes with a glass enclosure.

The Northwood Fox Mountain gives you options. If you’re big on entertainment, then request a 29” surround sound bar and a 28” LED TV in the bedroom. If you want to save money in the long run, you can request a 60-watt solar panel or a 100-watt solar panel.
