2017 Heartland Sundance XLT 291QB Review
Fifth wheel is light on weight but large on luxury
More than a dozen XLT Sundance Travel Trailer floorplans are available to accommodate a single couple or up to 10 people. We’ve decided to explore the 291QB. It has an exterior height of 10’11”, width of 8’ and measures 31’11” in length. The 291QB has a fresh water tank capacity of 44 gallons, gray water capacity of 38 gallons and black water capacity of 38 gallons. It also has a dry weight of 7,690 lbs and a hitch weight of 690 lbs.

The curvilinear roof on this lightweight trailer not only gives it a super smooth and modern look but also makes it aerodynamic and easy to tow by lighter duty trucks and more fuel-efficient crossovers. It has aluminum construction with laminated fiberglass, rear wall, and slide-out walls.
Before we head inside, let’s take a look at some of the features that make this trailer such a treat for enjoying life on the outside. The 18’ electric awning will not only keep you in the shade and out of the rain, but will also keep you entertained with its built-in speakers. The impressive outdoor kitchen, with its sink and two-burner range top, gives you the fine option of cooking outside in the breeze instead of getting overheated inside on a hot day. As well, an LED-lit pass-through storage makes it easy to haul all your camping equipment along.

However, if it’s one of those days that you’d rather hide from the weather than deal with it, step inside through the 30” wide door and enjoy all the comforts of the homey interior. One of the first things you’ll notice is the extra décor touches - tongue-and-groove plywood flooring, hardwood framed cabinets and designer accent walls. You’ll also love the height. Remember that curvilinear roof we loved for its aerodynamics on the outside? Inside, it provides a roomy 6’11” vaulted ceiling.
The Sundance 291QB isn’t short on conveniences. A fully-equipped kitchen has double sink with a highrise pullout faucet, oven, four-burner range, 6-cubic-foot fridge, microwave, and plenty of cupboard space and overhead storage. With a dinette and sofa that both convert to beds, there’s plenty of space for guests to tag along.

Kids will love how the bunkhouse feels like their own private hideaway space. The mini-dinette is the perfect space for arts and board game challenges and, with three bunks, the kids can bring their own guests or invite their new campsite friends for a spontaneous sleepover.
The full bathroom is right outside the bunkhouse. It has something you don’t see in most travel trailers – a bathtub, making bathing the wee ones that much easier and perhaps even fun for them.
The master bedroom has queen bed, shoe racks in the closet, lift-up storage, overhead reading lights, and a full sliding door.
You’ll not only be comfy, but safe: a smoke detector, carbon monoxide detector, and propane alarm and an emergency exit come standard.
The Sundance XLT 291QB starts at about $30,000. For more information, visit http://www.heartlandrvs.com/.
