2011 Skyline Aljo Joey Select 204 Review
Family-friendly travel trailer
Allowing you to travel in comfort and style, the Aljo Joey Select is offered in 11 different floorplans. We'll be taking a look at the popular 204 model, the second smallest plan in the series. It measures in with a length of 23'4", a width of 8', an exterior height 10'1", and an interior height of 6'6". The 204 sleeps four comfortably, which makes it an ideal travel trailer for families on the go. It has a hitch weight of 400 lbs, a dry weight of 3,150 lbs, a gross weight of 5,600 lbs and a cargo weight of 2,300 lbs.
By combining quality construction and safety features, Skyline has designed a family-friendly RV that will stand up to the tests of time and the open road. From its steel frame I-beam chassis to enclosed underbelly containing tanks, this travel trailer is tough and ready to be put through the paces.
For its chassis, the Aljo Joey Select uses a cambered steel frame with steel outriggers, and for added safety, comes with electric brakes at all of its wheels as well as safety chains and a breakaway safety switch. You'll also find black rotocast wheel wells and a battery rack.
Its durable, seamless one-piece rubber roof comes with a 12-year manufacturer's limited warranty, is U.V. ray resistant and provides a complete, watertight seal. Since it's tapered, the roof promotes water runoff, as does its awning drip rail. To make life easier, the Aljo Joey Select is pre-wired and framed for a roof air conditioner. As for the floor construction, it features 5/8" tongue and groove floor decking and a tightly sealed woven polyethylene underbelly.
Surrounding the 204 are walls that come equipped with steel-strap reinforcement and wall studs on 16" centers for amazing durability, as well as double wrapped and sealed corners. To keep your living environment comfortable, it has R-7 settle-resistant insulation and radius clamp-ring windows. Other features include twist locks on all storage doors, a patio convenience light, an entry screen door and an entry door assist handle.
The Aljo Joey Select also comes with features that will make life away from home a lot more comfortable and convenient. Just a few of these features include 120 V to 12 V power converter, two 20 lb. propane tanks with changeover, holding tanks with a drain outlet, a rear bumper with sewer hose carrier, a 6 gallon gas/DSI water heater and a water heater bypass. For travel all year long, it keeps things comfortable with a 25,000 BTU ducted furnace and a 13.5 BTU roof ducted air conditioner with wall thermostat.
Making sure you and your family stay safe, this travel trailer comes with a host of safety features. An LP gas leak detector, smoke detector and carbon monoxide detector will make it a lot easier to sleep at night, as will a fire extinguisher, flush door latch and dead bolt lock.
To make the Aljo Joey Select feel just like home, its stylish interior decor is designed to impress. This Skyline is decked out in color-coordinated designer interiors, while accents and thoughtful additions put the finishing touches on this home away from home. Underfoot, you'll find embossed vinyl flooring and carpet and pad, while extra padded dinette seat cushions with bolsters that are adorned in accent fabric are not just chic, but comfy as well. Other interior decor features include mini blinds and decorative glass inserts on select cabinet doors.
And speaking of cabinets, the 204 model is stocked with plenty of them, so you'll never have to worry about finding enough storage space. These Maple cabinets come with hardwood frame doors, and drawers slide in and out easily thanks to full extension ball bearing drawer guides.
The kitchen of this travel trailer is well stocked, so you won't have to make any meal over a campsite fire (that is, unless you want to). For your cooking pleasure, it comes with a Dometic double door refrigerator, a Wedgewood 3-burner range with oven and Piezo, a power range hood and a large carousel Dometic microwave. Additional features found in the kitchen include high pressure laminate countertops, an acrylic sink with a high rise faucet and a decorative wall border.
The living area that opens up thanks to a slideout is located right next to the kitchen. A sofa bed offers extra sleeping room for overnight guests, or can be used with a standing table to eat meals or just to relax. Entertainment is provided by an AM/FM/DVD/MP3 stereo with iPod connection, and interior and exterior speakers, and it even comes with a TV antenna with booster and park cable hookup if you choose upgrade with a 26" Vizio LCD TV.
