Great trailer
By Gary Bonish (I am an Owner) on Jan 02, 2016We bought our 189FBS to replace a 13' Trillium fiberglass trailer we had be using for over 30 yrs. This is ideal from my wife and myself as we wanted a bed that didn't fold up & a bathroom. We were looking at non-slide trailers, but the small side on this one is just right. We've had to camp a couple ... of times where we couldn't put the side out due to space restrictions at the camp grounds and the trailer is still fully usable with the side in. This is great when stopping to make lunch or just use the bathroom as all items in the trailer are useable with the slide in or out. We've had no problems with the trailer and are very happy with the decision we made to purchase this unit. We have upgraded the mattress since we bought it, as the factory mattress is not that great, but other than that it's been a great trailer. We did add a solar panel as we quite often camp with no hook ups in the national parks. We initially pulled it with a Ford Flex EB, but now pull it with a Ford F150 EB as it was near the max limit for towing with the Flex.Rating breakdown

we love the Coachman Apex
By sue (I am an Owner) on May 20, 2014We just purchased the 2011 Coachman Apex to replace a much older and small camper. We felt like we were camping in an upgraded hotel. The interior is beautiful and nicely appointed. Everything is easy to use and in perfect condition. We have not had a minute of trouble and have thoroughly enjoyed ... our trip. Great job for Coachman and great job to Camping world in Hanover Pennsylvania. We could not have had a better experience.Rating breakdown

No issues with mine at all
By Bill (I am an Owner) on Oct 22, 2012We purchased our 2011 Apex 18.9FBS in June 2012 and haveupgraded the two 20 gallon propane tanks with two 30 gallon forward tanks.purchased a aluminum hitch rack to carrypropane generator and spare lpg tank.installed a Hensley Cub hitch, purchased a counter top ice maker, added a nasafoam mattress. ... and a Patty O' Room. My wife and I couldn't be happier since We didn't want to trade our 2010 Toyota FJ Cruiser, It pulls great and since We are 10 miles from the Gulf , its a great hurricane evacuation standby. Our Last RV was a Road Trek 190 Popular.Rating breakdown

A dream come true slowly shattered
By Amy T :) (I am an Owner) on Aug 23, 2011We bought our Coachmen Apex 189FBS earlier this year and thought we were getting a good deal. It was beautiful, brand new, and we trusted the name. We got it home and soon thereafter took it out for a spin. A short weekend at Disneyland (in case we forgot anything important). Well, we didn't forget ... anything, but soon discovered our trailer had some issues. The doors were not level and were therefore very difficult to open and shut (something we must of missed at the dealership). The heater would not work, but instead set off the Carbon Monoxide detector. And at some point in the night the refrigerator decided to shut itself off ruining everything inside (our breakfast and lunch). Given this was the first night in our brand new trailer, we were less than thrilled. We returned home and immediately took the trailer to the dealership to have the issues resolved. The dealership did not give us any fit, but took almost 2 months to fix it (stating that because it was such a brand new model, parts were not fully available). We eventually got it back, and were too busy and in a financial crunch to use the trailer. So, it has sat for a few more months. We are now preparing it to go use it for the second time in its short existence and I have noticed that the bathroom cabinet holding the sink is separating from the wall, the glue is not holding it and it is threatening to rip the wallpaper out with it. It is too late to cancel our trip, but I know this means the trailer will be out of commission AGAIN as soon as we return. So far, I feel like we are going to spend more time repairing/having it repaired than being able to use it. And I fear for the day the warranty expires. Less than a year, not even two trips out yet, what a waste... I really had heard and thought Coachmen made a quality product, but given this, it appears we were wrong. This trailer was not a bargain and I'm sure we'll end up paying over and over again once the warranty wears out. I would not recommend it.Rating breakdown
