Great looking in and out but!
By glenn (I am an Owner) on Nov 23, 2013We love the looks of our Rushmore wash inside and out but in the first three weeks of ownership we have had over fifty problems and are now at our service center for two weeks while they try to repair all our defects and problems. Crossroads has address this with there 2014 build starting around Nov ... 1/13. They change over 20 things on the new model which would rectifier our problems with our unit.We have request a new unit to resolve our issues to no avail at the moment. Feel free to contact me directly at [email protected] if you have any questionsRating breakdown

After 8 months (part-time)
By Cliff Mills (I am an Owner) on Oct 01, 2013Strong reasons why I bought the Rushmore:1. Automatic levelers were pretty much a must. I didn’t want to deal with the problems of doing that manually and as a first timer they just make life easier. Since they were high on my list, it meant that I needed a late model trailer.2. The kitchen island ... was also important because my wife needs help walking and with the limited space between the island and the kitchen she is able to get around quite easily while holding on to both surfaces at the same time. 3. The extra room and the seat in the shower was a strong selling point 4. The Washington has a lot of storage, both with the cabinets inside the trailer, and I like the “see through†area under the trailer. So many of the other brands had less storage space under the trailer. 5. I like the sky light and the exhaust fan in the bathroom. Plus the exhaust fan in the entry way is a great help to cool the trailer. We also use the front room fan much of the time. I had to extend the chain so that my wife could reach it, but that was easy. 6. The fireplace puts out a lot of heat which is nice. 7. The sofa makes a great bed. I hate most sofa beds, but this is a good one. 8. The lights in the awnings are a nice touch. Our list of dislikes is part “wish list†and part unhappy about the way some things were finished. Most of the issues are due to laziness on the part of the people who do the finish work for the trailer. Purchasing a trailer is a once in a lifetime investment with a big price tag, it should not be ruined by inept workmanship and lack of attention to the details. We felt that you need to know about the finishing problems to correct what is happening. 1. Many of the curtain rods needed to be reinforced. Some were not put into the wall with anchors and fell out. We measured and rehung several blinds as they were not level. One rod in particular is not easy to get to and it was just stuck in the wrong place because that was probably the easiest. We have corrected the problem. 2. The chair rail trim pieces half way upon the walls in the living area keeps coming off. We had to re-glue several of these trim pieces. 3. A ceiling fan in the bedroom would be nice, but I realize that there is very little overhead space. 4. I hit my head on the cabinet that’s over the head of the bed quite regularly. My wife keeps thinking I should learn to avoid it, but I’m slow to learn new things. 5. The front room A/C doesn’t blow out any volume of air. To handle the heat on a hot day (80+ degrees) I put a portable fan in the hall way by the bathroom to blow cold are from the bedroom. The bedroom A/C unit works great but the noise is so loud it’s hard to sleep while it’s running. 6. Because the windows in the bedroom are small there isn’t very much light. Personally, I want my bedroom to be dark but to improve things so that we would have more sun light, I had the dealer scrape off the decal that covered the window. That helped and we both agreed that the window shouldn’t have been covered in the first place. I mean the decal looks nice on the outside, but cut the sun light on the inside. The trailer still looks nice on the outside. 7. I don’t like the kitchen table. There is very little room for my feet and the chairs keep hitting the legs of the table. We need more room for seating on both sides of the table, especially between the table and the entertainment chairs. I think that the entertainment lazy boys could be smaller to accommodate this problem. 8. I have a love/hate relationship with the window blinds. First, as I mentioned already several of the blinds were hung crooked. I really like the idea of having two blinds in one, BUT if the guide strings are tight enough to hold them up or in place, they are difficult to move up and down. If the strings are not tight, the blinds don’t stay in place. This problem is made worse because the guide strings keep coming loose. Then in order to fix them so that the tension is strong enough to hold the blind in place, I have to retighten them. 9. I think the trailer was designed with someone 5’ 7†in mind; however, my wife is 5’ tall and can’t see herself in the bathroom mirror, nor can she reach the exhaust fan in the bathroom or reach the pull chain of the fan in the front room. 10. The large cabinet above the toilet needs a shelf. It’s great to have a large storage space, but perhaps a removable shelf would be a nice option. 11. If you are walking from the bedroom to the bathroom, you have to step down a stair so that you can open the bathroom door in order to enter the bathroom. For someone who has a hard time walking that can be a problem, so I had the dealer take the bathroom door out and install an accordion door. I looks great and looks like it was designed that way. 12. We were a little surprised that there were no towel holders in the bathroom. I placed three command hooks on the large cabinet door and placed an “over the door†set of three hooks on the bedroom door for our bath towels. 13. The drawers in the kitchen need bumper pads because they open when the trailer is traveling. 14. The bed frame that slides caught the frame that is stationary and broke it when closing. 15. When raising the bed mattress to get to the storage area under the bed, the bed caught on a shelf by the head of the bed and pulled it up, tearing it from the frame. Options we added: 1. We wanted to be able to dry camp so I added a generator. The dealer did a nice job and added a switch to start it in the control panel along with a gas gauge. 2. We had the dealer add a washer/dryer. He had to move around an outlet to do that and the door knob had to be removed on the inside of the door in order for the door to shut. 3. We added a satellite dish and again the dealer had to add an outlet. 4. I like the TV hardware that holds the front room TV in place, but it is pulling out of the wall. 5. I had the dealer take the slider out of the tall cabinet to the left of the oven and replace it with shelves. The slider in my opinion was a waste of spacer. 6. I added a backup camera and wireless tire pressure sensor to the trailer. 7. Changed the bathroom door as described earlier. 8. My wife likes to use the vanity in the bedroom when she is getting ready in the morning, but there was no outlet, so I had my dealer add one. 9. I added a storage tube for my sewer hose on the frame under the storage unit and tank control knobs. 10. I had them install both a permanent surge protection unit that protects the entire trailer, a fresh water filtering system and a pressure control device for regulating the fresh water. 11. I replaced the receiver/amplifier with one that had HDMI connections. 12. We added some towel holders in the bathroom.Rating breakdown
