Fun Finder F-233RBS
By Scott Soderstrom (I am an Owner) on Jul 18, 2016My wife and I purchased a Fun Finder 233RBS from Carson City RV in the fall of 2013. We purchased the trailer to replace our beloved 30’ Jayco designer series that was just a little to big for Forest Service campgrounds. We wanted a smaller trailer but didn’t want to part with the space. The ... dual slide configuration of the 233RBS came the closest to meeting our needs. The Good: It pulls great. We took it over Sonora pass in the sierras and my Duramax pulled it like it wasn’t even back there. Its small enough to get into those old Forest service camp sites. The awning and slides work great so far. The kitchen dining room layout works well for the two of us and our 2 smaller dogs. The slides don’t leak water and very little dust even though we do a fair amount of dirt roads. The bathroom and shower are of decent size. We have towed this thing about 3,500 miles in Nevada and California and have had no major problems so far. The exterior color and styling are very nice. The Air conditioner and heater have worked well the few times we have needed them. You can access the bathroom without opening the slides(good for those quick on the road stops). The Bad: Not to sound whinny but for the price I thought the fit and finish could have been better. Although I will say the quality of the Fun Finder is a 100% better than a similar Coachman model we looked at (almost identical in appearance). Time is money so all manufacturers cut labor were ever possible. For instance the water pump assembly is located in the center island and the factory just screwed a piece of paneling down in front of it just to save time. It probably took me all of a ½ hour to take some scrap wood cabinet parts and construct a box to set over the pump. It looks better and now there is twice the storage in that area. There is a wood panel covering the access to the back of the water heater. The panel also has the CO2 monitor mounted on it. This panel must be removed the access the winterizing valve for the water heater. It would not have taken much effort to put two hinges and a latch for easy access here. It’s now on my project list. The model we purchased has the standard crank down jacks which work fine as long as you are on a totally flat pad. On even slightly un-level sites the jacks on the high side will not reach the ground so don’t forget some extra blocks. I used a set of 70’s style screw jacks just like grandpa used to use. A word to the wise make sure the bathroom door is closed when you pull in the dining area slide. The door will not clear in the open position and you will break the door (or at least bend the hinges in my case). My last bitch is the plastic nose fairing has faded badly after a relatively short exposure to the sun( I cover the RV in the winter). All in all we are satisfied with our purchase. We looked at a lot of RV’s before we bought this one and we felt it was the best value for the money. Carson City RV was easy to work with and very laid back. They are one of the better dealers in the area.Rating breakdown
