2013 Aerolite 232E hybrid
By Jim S. (I am an Owner) on May 19, 2013The 232E was a very short lived floorplan. It (2012 232E) came out about June 2011. But about Sept of 2011 all the Aerolite trailers went thru a major outer upgrade. The color went from pure white to a medium gray exterior. They switched over to black trimmed "frame-less" windows. Most other trim, ... vent cover, AC cover, awning arms, frig roof vent...are now black. The lower 4" to 6" of the side walls are dark silver and are rounded. The wheel skits are also dark silver. The main feature of the 232 is the large slide that holds the couch and kitchen ( counter, stove and micro ). I ordered a 2012 in Feb. of 2012 and was told a 6 week build time. When I was called to pick it up in late March, they said I was going to be receiving a 2013. Since I had owned a 2005 Aerolite hybrid #236, I expected a semi good build. Over the first year of ownership we experienced the usual this & that items, but I think the main design flaw was the location of the water pump. It was located under the frig along the outer wall with no way to get to it to winterize it. The dealer cut out a panel under the heater and relocated the pump behind that new removable panel. The other quality item was the crappy mattresses. They had the thinnest batting that when slept on gave no support where your body felt the wood under the bunk doors. Aerolite said spend up to $250 to either buy a new filler or foam. We spent about $130 to buy two 2" mattress topper, which did the trick. They covered that expanse with no problem. I saw a few 232E models from the 2012 & 2013 and it was discontinued. I really don't know why. The large slide really opens up the space for a 25' trailer. Also going from the 2005 we had to the 2013 it is 7" taller because of a "I" beam frame compared to the "Euro" frame they used to use. Now they only offer maybe 2 or 3 floorplans for their hybrids in shorter lengths and no or small slides. I think this it to position their hybrids at a lower "price point". Back in 2005 we had 11 hybrid floorplans to choose from.Rating breakdown
