Love the SV-264
By Craig (I am an Owner) on Mar 03, 2011I have had the SV-264 since September 2010 and took it camping 5 times before putting it in storage in mid November. I love the layout. I think it really is a trailer for two and not for a family, which fits our lifestyle perfectly. You can sleep one on the dinette cushions and one on the sofa, but ... it would be difficult for adults to sleep there. It has a full size queen bed, great for my 6'3" frame, that you can walk around without climbing over one another. The mattress that came with it was really cheap so we bought a replacement for it. What a difference in sleeping comfort. The bathroom is very spacious. The shower is fully enclosed with a glass door, so water stays in the shower area. We also love the rear kitchen, but not surprising for a trailer, it is a one person kitchen. It is one of the few trailers that actually has some counter space. We like that the sofa is directly across from the table. It makes it easy to congregate in one area for visiting. There is adequate storage both inside and out. The bedroom has two wardrobe closets on each side of the bed, with storage above the bed. The mattress can be lifted, assisted by a lift system, very easily, with plenty of storage underneath. The slide contains plenty of storage with a closet and storage over the sofa. There is also storage over the dinette and a small amount of storage under the seat cushions. The kitchen doesn't have as much storage as we would like, so we have to store some items elswhere in the trailer. It is not as convenient as we would like, but it works. The outside pass through works extremely well and holds all of our extras. There are 2 gray water tanks, of 30 gallons each, with separate discharge points. One for the kitchen (in rear of trailer) and one for the bathroom, with a commom sewage discharge point. The water heater is under the sink in the kitchen, so hot water delivery is near instant, but slow to get to bathroom. The water supply is filtered. The undercarriage is insulated and the tanks have heaters to keep them from freezing in colder weather, though commercial power is required to power the heaters. The floor, walls and ceiling are very sturdy due to the foam core that is used in the construction. No sag in the floor at all and the ceiling is rock solid, unlike some other trailers. The trailer is easily heated and maintained due to the great insulation in the ceiling and walls. Fully loaded (all personal gear, food, AC, full propane tanks and 30 gallons of water) the trailer ways about 5,800 pounds. My GMC Sierra 1/2 ton, 5.3L engine, truck will handle 7,500 pounds, and pulls it with no trouble, though I have to shift into 2nd gear to pull the steeper hills. However, I am able to go 55-60 mph up most hills. Gas mileage has ranged from 9-11 mpg depending on the grades I'm pulling. Overall we love the trailer and are pleased with our purchase. The quality is top notch both inside and out, unlike some of the cheaper trailers we looked at. We bought it new for just under $20k, with AC, power awning, stereo and TV. Don't let them charge you the $22k-$26k some dealers are asking.Rating breakdown
