2016 Rockwood Signature Ultralight 8327SS
By User (I am an Owner) on Jul 07, 20162016 Rockwood Signature Ultralight 8327SSWorst Travel Trailer EVER!!!!!First let me start by stating that the trailer is less than a year old and was purchased from Chesaco RV http://www.chesacorv.com/ in Baltimore, Maryland on November 2015 brand new. I purchased a full extended warranty from the dealership ... to cover anything that the manufacturer did not cover. Here we go: 1. Lot Damage – It came with damaged dining table, cabinetry, bar stools, exterior pass-through door and towel rack. These items were informed to Chesaco RV during the walkthrough and they said that they would send me the damaged parts. I’m still waiting (July 2016). 2. Air Conditioning Capacity – When purchased I was informed that the main unit was a 15k BTU unit. Big fat LIE. Both units are 13.5k BTU. This was a major disappointment on the sales rep. 3. Air Conditioning Functionality – The units do not cool the trailer at all. The Coleman unit that were installed Coleman Airxcel http://www.airxcel.com/ do not have the capacity to cool and move enough the air to make for a comfortable environment during 80+ degrees F. After contacting Forest River http://www.forestriverinc.com, to complain about this situation, they sent me to get in touch with Coleman. Coleman sent me a retrofit kit to temporarily address the problem consisting of a new interior assembly to allow for proper air-flow. They acknowledged the problem, hence they sent a temporary fix. This did not solve the problem. It is still very hot inside. 4. AC Ducting – The ductwork is not properly done. It leaks air into the front bunk storage compartment, pass-through compartment and the front pantry area. In addition, it has several vents that are blocked since the ductwork is carved into the foam roof. This translates to very little air coming out of the vents and as described in point number 3 the air is not all that cool or dry. 5. Furnace – OK, the AC does not cool, so it’s only fair that the furnace does not heat. I spent several cold weeks to the point that I had to buy individual space heaters just so I stay warm. It came improperly installed and it was sent to warranty and they assured me that this next winter it would work. Keeping my fingers crossed. 6. Insulation – On hot humid days, while everyone else in the campground is cool and comfortable, me trailer is condensing water on the front outside walls. It looks like a water park slide. 7. Undercarriage Cover – It came improperly installed from the manufacturer. It was taken to warranty where they did a bad patch-job. 8. Skirt – It is leaking water through the passenger rear bottom skirt. It appears that something is leaking water. 9. Cable TV – This does not work. I have gone through multiple exterior new cables and the problem persists. 10. Stabilizing Jacks – Front stabilizing jack does not work properly. It does not lock into place. The rear stabilizing switch had to be replaced under warranty. 11. Pass-Trough Doors – Both pass-through doors came uneven from the manufacturer. They were repaired under warranty but now you have to throw them firmly to close and lock. 12. Rear Bunk Bed Slide-out – It needs to be jumpstarted manually to open. You can close it under it’s own power but after transport you have to open it ¼ of the way manually and the electric motor will open it the rest of the way. 13. Leaky Faucets – The island hot water hose leaks into the compartment. If you wish to contact me, please send me an email to [email protected]Rating breakdown
