Disappointing 31QBDS
By Craig Collingwood (I am an Owner) on May 06, 2018Bought the trailer 28 Feb 2018. After about a month noticed the carpet near the queen bed was wet. with further investigation found out the area underneath the "PANTRY" was also showing signs of water leakage. After taking it into the dealer for warranty work found out the city water connection had ... a leak in it which was causing the flooding. Also had the kitchen faucet tightened down as it was loose. The primary AC unit was making excessive noise and had to have some bushing put in as it had metal on metal rubbing. A month later water was coming out under the kitchen cabinet. Found out that when the kitchen faucet had been tightened down they had forgotten to put back washer for the hose connections so they hot and cold water hoses were leaking where they connect to the faucet. Installed o-ring washers and all was good. Two weeks later after a rain discovered water leaking out of the kitchen cabinet again. Tightened the hoses some more. Two weeks later water coming out of the cabinet again. Turned it in for repair to the dealer. No leak was found, after 8 days of waiting, I live in the trailer full time, and paying a massive amount for hotel bills. the status is as follows. Trailer left outside in the rain to see if the leak was coming from the outside. Nope, trailer still dry. Service Techs stat that Jayco policy is that they will not replace the kitchen cabinet which has been ruined by the water leaks unless they can prove that the leak has been fixed. Talked to service manager at Crestview RV Buda, TX to see what can be done. Hoping to get them to at least reimburse me for most of not all of the cost of 15 days of hotels, and dog boarding, plus fixing the cabinet on Monday. If they refuse thinking of selling it back to them, at probably a large lost, and moving into a apartment while my house if being built. Trailer is hard to get level when parking it and it pulls fairly well. Can speak much in comparison to other models as this was my first and probably my last RV trailer I will ever buy. Oh almost forgot the sensors for the #1 grey tank was showing 2/3 full and then full but when I open the valve no water came out. They replaced the sensor for the system hope that fixes the issue. Forget about making the queen bed as it is almost impossible to do so. It is included in the back pullout and is so tight you have to crawl from the base of the be to the head just to get in it. It could use some type of shelf or table on each side for phones and other items on each side of the queen bed. Mattresses for the queen bed and the bunk beds all had to be removed and replace as they were extremely uncomfortable and painful to sleep on. Both doors could use some kind of a shade/curtain as they shine the morning sun directly into your face if you are trying to sleep in late. The second grey water valve sits in front of the first tire on the right side of the trailer directly under the pull-out for the living room. This causes you to have to crawl under the trailer on your hands and knees to empty the tank and I usually hit the rail for the pull with my lower back out each time I have to go under it to operate the valve. Trailer leans to the right side as both pull outs are on the same side of the trailer which is why it is hard to level the trailer even when camping on a concrete pad. Bathroom is small but tight. Kitchen oven is hard to light and will take some time to figure out how to cook in it without some fancy equipment, pizza stone and a thermometer. But I have been reading and have found this to be a common problem for most RVs.Rating breakdown
