2011 Bullete 286QBS
By JR (I am an Owner) on Aug 16, 2012We took a total of 5 years researching campers and ever so changing our minds on what we wanted, needed, or would settle on or for. This changed as our family grew. We now have a 5, 3 and 1 year old and after much searching choose the 286QBS. We were limited by weight as our car is set to tow only ... 7100lbs. The sleekness of the camper is eye catching. I had only towed a pop up camper prior to purchasing this monster. I was surprised at the ease of pulling this 33ft trailer. I feel the wide wheel base makes for a sturdy pull. We have a weight distribution and friction sway bar to go with it which improves on the sway if anything. The interior is fantastic. The amount of storage is incredible. Currently most of our storage is empty, but we figure as the kids grow that will quickly change. The slide on the 2011 I believe is a little bit smaller than the 2012 model and some things have changed such as a trash hole in the kitchen, but not much more changed. The 295 model if you can afford the weight and the price difference has the slides in the back which give more play room for the kids. This would have been my pick, but it does not have a U-Dinette like the 286 which the wife wanted. Also as I said it was heavier. I built straight up and down ladders with rails for the bunk beds and stained them to match the interior as the ones camping world has for $60 would get in the way since they are set at an angle, plus you would have to buy two or teach the kids how to swing one back and forth to get down from the bunks. The wardrobe in the back is fantastic as well. The kid’s clothes and games are all in one location they can access easily. Everything else is pretty standard, water holding tanks, refrigerators, oven, microwave, ect... nothing really to boast about. Turning the dinette and the sofa into a bed is really convenient for movie nights. The outside storage is great as well. My only complaint would be that it only comes with one fan by the kitchen and one in the bathroom. It would have been nice to have one over the queen bed and by the bunk beds. Also I wouldn't give it great on build quality, but yes reliability because it is made of an aluminum frame, not the strongest, but that's how it stays lightweight. Nevertheless it has been fantastic thus far. We are soon to take it on a long than 3 day trip where I may have to repost what I think. Till then I can say that we really love this camper and hope many years of fun to come out of it.Rating breakdown
