launch 17FB
By CLaude Denney (I am an Owner) on Aug 09, 2017I bought the StarCraft 2016 17fb new in May of 2017. I picked this camper due to the light weight and I wanted smaller than the 28 footer I owned. This camper had a good feel to it , cozy but useable space. There were things I would've liked the camper to have but I was offered a good deal and went ... with it . Without even camping it in a few things I can say I wish it had. A thermostat control for the roof mounted AC. The AC just runs and runs with no shutting off , no matter how cold the inside of the camper gets. A outside shower station. A high raise facet for the sink. The sink is very small and with the low facet it makes washing anything a mess of water all over the counter top. These are things I would change about the camper. Now , , after taking the camper out for the first time. The fist time we used the camper the refrigerator was not turning on at the site hooked up to power. Took some playing with the power cord on the back of fridge and I was able to get it to power on .The kitchen sink facet leaked water around the knobs the whole camp trip , we packed towels around them to keep the counter dry. ( yes we the water pressure regulator was hooked up ). The radio was flashing the word error across the screen when I would try to change the radio stations. I had to give up and play a CD. The speakers sound just cheap and under powered. The wood trim fell off from under the cabinet above the bed and from the cabinet above the kitchen table and from the cabinet in the bathroom , just from the 40 minute drive to the camp site. The power awing worked great but once we had it open all the way I noticed 5 pencil eraser sized holes in the awing cover. The toilet is so close to the bathroom door that your legs hit the door when you try to sit on the toilet. there is a toilet paper roll holder mounted right at knee height on the door , so that will have to be moved , there is just no room for that and your legs without just using the restroom while leaving the door open . the 2 burner ranger is sort of small , we had placed a pan on it to start cooked and had not noticed that the flame control knob is so close to the burner , that the pan was resting on the knob and the burner, .so it melted the plastic knob to the bottom of the pan. These are just a few of things we have noticed in the camper again we have only camped in it once. But already we have found areas that can have some improvement made. I have not had the time to take the camper back to the dealer to see what any warranty repairs will look like yet ,Rating breakdown
