Basically gutted a brand new trailer & remodeled for optimal storage, sleeps 4, 4x the storage and so kuch more! My patent pending!!
By Caireann Suzette O. (I am an Owner) on Apr 25, 2017Improve storage!! OUTLETS THAT CAN BE SAFELY USED, get rid "love seat, the door doesn't stay closed & who wants to unmake then remake the bed making a small space cluttered for a chair? Bring along a folding chair. Flatten out bed platform by removing the pitifully small "closet & nightstand" but hang ... on to them for later. Put a real, comfortable queen size (not short nor pillow top) shallow depth so its not heavy & may be flipped when needed and place it widthwise of the trailer front. This allows a full length bed And more floor space. Now you've lowered the bed so one doesn't need a ladder or running start to jump into bed! 😊 Now storage. Extend the cupboard above bed to across the full width of trailer front, increase height by almost double, put shelves in it and dividers for keeping clothes neat. Put 2 sets of electrical outlets under cupboards adding a 12" height shelf underneath cupboard again with dividers for a basket and heres where the nightstand drawer could come in, put it in the middle, or anywhere, or build a couple of new drawers, of above said shelf for valuable or small items. Also shelf should be built on a slight angle tipping back with a slight lip to keep items from rolling out should your campsite not be quite level. This handy shelf allows for a clip on fan, clip on light, book, glasses, flashlight, even a c-pap or nebulizer, you know, anything! Just measure to your your own needs & specifics & you can build up the sides of drawer previously used in now non-exsistant nightstand or again build 1-2 or more of your own design. Still working by the bed. You've removed the itsy-bitsy loveseat, maybe you can use it elsewhere but I didn't, sold it on Craigslist for $300! You can put the "closet" that was by the bed & leaving room for the slideout, put the closet up between slideout & bed side leaving ample room for slide-out mechanism, increase closet length by adding to the bottom & now you have more room for dresses, shoes, etc. Make it wider if room allows just be sure to leave space for bed linens. You've also created bedroom privacy! 😊 Now make storage under bed, with dividers to accomodate doors or premeasure for totes. If you choose you may put a nightstand (using that removed nightstand drawer or build drawers to fit, going from floor to ceiling next to bed again allowing same linen space as by closet (this will look nice too). Put drawers in nightstand/small dresser & add an electrical outlet here too. I put a couple of shelves, with lips, and the rest drawers from floor to ceiling & it provides another nice "bedroom privacy" "screen". I put up a regular curtain rod with a center support hook inbetween the new closet & new drawers and made my own privacy curtains. I'm all about personalization! I made throw pillows for the née futon bed that with a pillow case will double as guest pillows. Now the kitchen. That outlet is the Most useless placed ever!! Get it out and replace with 2! double outlets on the wall between sink & stove. Extend the cupboard down & out even with microwave & put a shelf in again slightly tipped back & with a lip, underneath above said shelf, i used double hook coat hooks for pots, pans, mugs, whatever suits your personal needs. Put store-bought vinyl coated wire basket shelves under sink. Rubbermaid makes some great seal tight containers to stack & use in the space under the oven & also there's great lightweight vinyl covered wire shelves if you prefer these in kitchen area. Same for entertainment cupboards. Build in some shelves under tv, inside the cupboards, lightweight shelving in any & all cupboards are always options. Here's a huge deal for me. Maybe folks aren't clutzy like me and don't have a child or grandchild to occasionally come visit but i would guess most do 😊 Get rid of that small jackknife sofa. Replace with a taller, futon without arms, comfortable true full size 8" mattress that regular full size shallow sheets will fit!! Taller futon allows for clearance of slider mechanics but also allows for drawer space underneath for said guest clothes & bedding-even if it's just a nice sleeping bag. Storage unit above new futon 😜 needs to be pulled forward making it deeper & again even with walls of slideout. I made my own privacy window curtains to match pillows, etc & brighten up to summer colors. Washroom: replace the commode for an RV house standard porcelain commode. Change washroom faucet to a tall kitchen height faucet. And replace that outlet! put outlet above & away from water but usable! Whoever thought that outlets on the front of a counter where they can get bumped & appliances pulled out-NOT SAFE. More shelves under washroom sink & also in this nice big corner closet. I found a nice retractable clothesline for in shower or anywhere that suits you, to dry towels overnight. I put my shower stool in the lovely full size shower. Add a good size over shower head holder rack for shampoo, conditioner, soaps, etc. Change bath mat from in front of shower daily to keep floor dry. Dry is the key to maintaining a mold & mildew free trailer. Personally i believe it takes a woman to design this darling little trailer, however it's like pulling teeth to convince someone to make these changes. Oh yes, underneath the trailer storage, Good quality, excellent seal totes are essential for organization. If you're lucky enough to have a H.D. truck with a locking topper with a good battery operated light inside the topper? Make this your pantry, with extra totes for holding laundry supplies, the fishing gear, tent, that seasonal coat hopefully you'll never need! Crafts, books, extra couple of lawn chairs & the bicycles. Must have topper rack on truck topper for the canoe. Be sure everything locks well. Happy trails!! 😄😄Rating breakdown
