We’ve put together a list of five of the best Class C motorhomes for 2018 to help get you started as you shop for a family motorhome.

A Class C motorhome is pretty easy to spot thanks to its cab-over chassis design. These motorhomes are built on a commercial truck cab frame, or what was commonly called a box van. These may be the most popular motorhome on the road today thanks in part to ease of driving and lower costs to get into the motorhome initially.

Being built on the same basic frame and drivetrain as today’s popular rental moving trucks, anyone can drive a Class C motorhome. They’re lower in initial costs than bigger motorhomes, like the Class A models, too. Their construction tends to give them a higher value down the road a way, too. A nice point for those worried about resale value and loan rates. Here are some of the best Class C motorhomes coming to dealer lots this year.

2018 Winnebago Minnie Winnie 31D

The whole notion of a Class C motorhome is so closely associated with Winnebago that the brand is often referred to as the general term for the style of RV. All of the Minnie Winnie series motorhomes have a comfortable master suite in the rear of the RV, as well as convertible sofa sleepers and a bunk over the front. The Winnebago Minnie Winnie 31D has two opposing slide-outs for expanded space and a third slide-out at the rear of the RV for a larger master suite. If you’re looking for the classic Class C motorhome and want a little extra space, this Winnie isn’t too mini and may be just what you’re looking for.

2018 Jayco Redhawk 26XD

Jayco’s goal for the 2018 Redhawk line is to make them the best value in the category. They focused on two areas. The interior is an area that many of the manufacturers work on to make the best experience for the end users – you. The Jayco Redhawk 26 XD has a walk around queen bed, comfortable dining seating and three slide-outs for additional space. The other area Jayco focused on was the drive. They understood that a big part of the overall camping experience is the journey to the camp site. Available for the Redhawk is the J-Ride handling package. It offers advanced suspension components, rubber isolation mounts and additional stabilizer bars to make the Ford-built chassis handle the open roads better.

2018 Thor Motor Coach Quantum RC25

Thor has made a thunderous impact on the idea of a luxury Class C motorhome with the Quantum series. The Thor Motor Coach Quantum RC25 is built on a Ford E-450 chassis and powered by the Triton V10 engine. One big slide-out expands the interior and a wide range of options let you tailor the RV to your needs. One of the key elements to the Quantum series is the kitchen area. Solid countertops, a three-burner stove and nice appointments that make it feel just like the kitchen in your home. A convenient bathroom with a stand-up shower complete the feel of one of the best Class C motorhomes of the year.

2018 Coachmen Freelander 21QB

Coachman packs a lot of valuable features into the Freelander motorhomes to make them a great buy. One of the biggest is the use of Azdel composite panels that replace the use of wood in the structure of the RV. By using these panels made from a fiberglass/composite blend, they reduce weight and increase durability with less chance of warping and water damage. The Coachmen Freelander 21QB is a compact RV with a queen bed, overhead bunk and convertible dinette sleeper. It is a great option for someone looking for a smaller, simpler RV that packs a lot of quality into a smaller package.

2018 Jayco Melbourne 24K

Built on a Mercedes Benz Sprinter chassis, the Melbourne Class-C motorhomes from Jayco are exactly what you need when you want a compact RV with a serious amount of style. With a Garmin infotainment system, luxury appointments and the comfort of Mercedes’ legendary reliability from the V6 turbo diesel drivetrain, these compact RVs are perfect for when you want to adventure. The Jayco Melbourne 24K has two slide-outs, a queen-sized bed, a 14-foot awning and 300-pounds of capacity in the overhead bunk.
