2018 Coachmen Concord 300DS Review
The Coachmen Concord Class C motorhome makes RV living and travelling a luxurious venture. It offers a home-like touches to make your life a little easier, and though it’s ideal for a couple, it can also drive and sleep up to six adults.
Available in two floorplans, we are going to take a closer look at the Concord 300DS.
It has a gross vehicle weight rating of 14,200 lbs and gross combined weight rating of 20,000 lbs. As well, it offers up a fuel capacity of 57 gallons and can carry 43 gallons of fresh water, 53 gallons of gray water, and 28 gallons of black water. It measures 33’3” long, 10’8” high, and 96” wide.
The Concord 300DS can be built on either a Chevy 4500 V8-6.0L chassis or a Ford E-450 V10-6.8L chassis with air-assist suspension. Curved laminated sidewalls and molded fiberglass front and rear caps give the motorhome a really nice look. There are also a few storage compartments, including one with a drain, and a ladder at the rear. The large, frameless tinted window at the back gives the motorhome a very polished, high-end look.

There’s a large 19’ foot power awning with LED-light strip, providing ample outdoor living space. You can opt to upgrade with an outdoor entertainment center.
Inside, the Concord 300 DS, you’ll notice its residential feel, thanks to a few luxurious details. In the kitchen area, the cabinetry is solid wood with raised panel detailing and the counter space is beyond what you’d expect to find in a motorhome. There’s a long expanse of uninterrupted prep surface and a great big picture window that gives you a wide view of your campsite and really brightens up the space with natural light. The double bowl sink has a pull-out faucet to simplify cleaning up, and the flush-mount sink cover expands the counter space even further. A flush-mount glass cover on the recessed three-burner cooktop offers even more prep space. There is a slim-profile range hood above the cooktop, and a convection microwave oven below. The flush-mount double door refrigerator blends into the décor seamlessly thanks to the hardwood door inserts. The fridge runs off electric and propane with automatic switchover.

Across from the kitchen work zone, in the super slide, there’s a generously sized U-shaped dinette big enough to seat a crowd with another big window. The pedestal table drops down and converts the space into a bed for two. A drawer under the bench is a great place to stash your table linens and maybe some board games. There are a couple of seatbelts on the dinette bench as well.
A jackknife sofa, with two more seatbelts, is behind the dinette, towards the front of the motorhome. It converts into sleeping space for two more and also hides good storage space underneath.
At the front of the motorhome, where you would typically see a bunk in the cab over, the Concord has its entertainment center. There’s a 32” television, a multimedia unit with radio, CD/DVD that is Bluetooth ready, a large speaker at each end of the entertainment center and a sound bar across the top, and a couple of cabinets for storage.

The Coachmen Concord 300DS has a walk-through bathroom; the stand-up shower is on its own, while the room with the porcelain foot-flush toilet and sink is just across the hall in its own room with a door. There’s also good counter space, lots of overhead storage, and a large mirror. If you’d like to turn the two areas into an all-in-one bathroom, simply swing the door to close off the area from the main living area. A sliding door closes off the bedroom.
In the bedroom, the queen bed is in a slide-out, which creates plenty of walk around space. The bed has a comfortable Serta mattress, along with a small shelf on one side, reading lights on both sides, and storage overhead. Opposite the foot of the bed, there’s a two-door mirrored wardrobe with hanging space on either side of a bank of wide drawers. There’s also a space in case you’d like to install another television.
