2011 Itasca Reyo 25Q Review
It’s the second year the Itasca Reyo has been out on the road, and for 2011, this Class A Motorhome offers improved fuel economy and a host of new features to make your time away from home even more enjoyable.
Available in three floorplans, we’re going to take a closer look at the newest edition to the Reyo line up – the 25Q. The 25Q measures in with a length of 25’5″, an exterior height of 10’9″, an exterior width of 7’6″, an interior height of 6’5″, an interior width of 7’3″and comes with 25.9 cubic feet of exterior storage. For your water needs, the 25Q comes with a freshwater capacity of 35 gallons, a black water tank capacity of 36 gallons and a gray water tank capacity of 36 gallons.
Built on a Mercedes-Benz sprinter F50 chassis, the Reyo is powered by the Mercedes-Benz 3.0L turbo-diesel engine, making this Class A motorhome fuel efficient and giving you an estimated fuel economy of 15 to 18 miles per gallon. The Reyo is easy to drive, thanks to its 5-speed automatic transmission and it comes with adaptive ESP electronic stability control for more responsive control with ABS. Other handy features include traction control (ASR), load adaptive control (LAC) that calculates its mass and center of gravity to offer optimum stability and a 5,000-lb towing capacity.
For the Reyo, Itasca employs the SuperStructure construction process. Boasting strength and durability, the SuperStructure contains a solid framework, as well as steel and aluminum substructures and components. It also combines Thermo-Panel sidewalls and interlocking joints to give you an RV that stands up to the test of time.
The Reyo also comes with a Threshold RV Door that features dual seals, dual latches and hidden hinges. Offering a secure seal, the Threshold RV Door reduces wind and road noise, and its interior and exterior handles are set at separate, ideal heights for entering and exiting this RV. To circulate fresh air when the door is closed, just open the built-in screened window.
Other exterior features of note include a premium high-gloss skin, a 16′ electric patio awning, automatic entrance door steps, lighted storage compartment, rear mud flaps, a porch light and a stepwell light.
To ensure that all of the Reyo’s systems are easy to find and navigate, you can monitor everything using the IntelliSense One Touch Control touch screen panel. You’ll be able to access important information, including the tank levels, by using sonar technology without probes that can corrode or clog for accurate readings.
If you’re a year-round traveller, you’ll be happy to learn that the Reyo will keep things comfortable no matter what the temperature is outside. With a 13,500 BTU roof-mounted air conditioner and a 20,000 BTU low-profile furnace, you control the temperature inside.
You certainly don’t want to rough it when you’re on the road, so the Reyo comes with a variety of power options to keep you plugged in. If you want to watch TV, there’s a service center with cable TV input, 30-amp power cord and a portable satellite dish hook-up. A 3,200-watt Cummins Onan diesel generator and two deep-cycle, Group 24 RV batteries offer plenty of juice wherever you are. Other power features include an AC/DC load center, 45-amp converter/charger, auxiliary start circuit, a battery disconnect system, automatic dual-charge control and a 300-watt DC/AC inverter.
Inside the Reyo, the cab makes the drive a whole lot easier. Sit back and enjoy the ride with seats that come with armrests, adjustable lumbar support, power lift, swivel/slide, recline and headrests. These seats can also lift and rotate to become seating for the living area. Driving is much more enjoyable with rearview monitor and sideview cameras, and the powered sunvisor drops down at the touch of a button. To keep you entertained while behind the wheel, a CD player and iPod connector are incorporated into the RV Radio with 6.5″ LCD touch screen. An iPod connector is included so you can also control your iPod through the touch screen.
In the lounge, catch up with your favorite programs or movies on the 26″ LCD TV (that comes with an innovative bracket that lets the TV slide for optimal viewing whether the slideout is extended or retracted). The sofa turns into a bed when you have extra guests spending the night, and the pedestal table can be moved to accommodate sleeping arrangements. For your storage needs, there’s plenty of cabinetry in Mocha Cherry or Sunset Cherry. And with people coming in and out of the RV and tracking dirt everywhere, the Reyo features vinyl flooring throughout.
Get cooking in the Reyo’s fully equipped kitchen. Stocked with features such as a microwave/convection oven and a vented range fan, the kitchen will keep you well fed. The refrigerator comes with a removable freezer compartment, and glass sink and range covers expand your countertop space. You will also have cold-storage flexibility with a refrigerator/freezer. Other features include laminate countertops and a decorative backsplash.
In the bedroom, a slideout gives you lots of room for a queen bed and a large wardrobe. For even more storage space, you’ll find two large drawers below the bed. There’s even a 19″ LCD TV, so you can watch TV from the comfort of your bed.
Next to the bedroom is the main bathroom. You’ll find all the necessities in here, including a shower, toilet and vanity sink. There are even a few extras, such as a flexible showerhead, a shower curtain and a skylight.
