From its engine to its kitchen, the 2014 Jayco Seneca has all the makings of a high quality Class C motorhome.

Excellence starts with construction. To ensure quality, Jayco hires Amish craftsmen to do all the Seneca’s woodwork. Built on a Freightliner M2 chassis, the Seneca runs on a Cummins ISB 6.7L 340 HP engine. It features heavy-duty rear air suspension and its hitch can pull a whopping 10,000 lbs. The Seneca’s floors are vacuum bonded and feature laminated layers of Darco underbelly. Insulated with R-9 bead foam, the floors will keep you and your furniture grounded. Also vacuum bonded, the Seneca’s walls feature laminated layers of high-gloss fiberglass, lauan, and aluminum framing. Like the floors, they are insulated with R-9 bead foam insulation. A seamless fiberglass roof is built with one-piece construction, which protects it against the elements. This means less leaks and less sun damage.

Jayco offers four different floorplans of the Seneca – the 36FK, 37FS, 37RB, and 37TS. We will take a closer look at 37TS. It uses space efficiently and features a large living room. The 37TS has a gross vehicle weight rating of 28,000 lbs and a gross combined weight rating of 33,000 lbs. It has an exterior length of 39’1”, exterior width of 102”, exterior height (with A/C) of 157”, and interior height of 84”. Moving on to tanks, the fresh water capacity is 81.5 gallons, gray wastewater capacity is 40 gallons, black wastewater capacity is 50 gallons, and fuel tank capacity is 74 gallons. It sleeps 5-8 people comfortably.

Never judge a book by its cover but always judge an RV by its exterior. The Seneca comes with two décor options: Golden Burgundy Premium Paint and Espresso Premium Paint. Its electric patio awning comes with LED lights and the motorhome features side-hinged baggage doors. Hydraulic automatic leveling jacks save you time and stress, while the hookup for city water saves you from dehydration.

Before you step inside the 37TS, you might want to rinse your feet under the outside shower or watch your favorite show on the exterior 32” TV, equipped with two speakers. When you’re finally ready to go inside, hop onto the electric powered entrance step, take hold of the heavy duty grab handle, and walk through the keyless-entry door. With a touch-pad locking system, you won’t need to fiddle with a set of keys ever again.

The cab features two power leather seats for the driver and passenger. To prevent boredom during long trips, there’s a touch-screen premium in-dash sound system with a backup camera monitor. If you get lost, you don’t have to open up the massive map that is impossible to fold – instead you can utilize your built-in GPS. The chassis features a tilt steering wheel, cruise control and power anti-lock brakes. If the driver wants to take a short nap, he can pull into a parking lot and pull down the privacy curtains.

Longer naps can be taken in the bedroom. With a king-size bed, you can sprawl out in any direction and there will still be room for your significant other. Storage space seems unlimited and includes an overhead compartment above the bed, large wardrobe, shelf, and chest. You can hide larger objects in the under-bed storage, which lifts easily on gas struts. The Seneca’s bedroom gives you the option of having washer/dryer prep. Lastly, those who love watching TV will appreciate the 22” digital LED HDTV, conveniently located across from the bed.

When you awake from your nap, freshen up in the bathroom. The radius fiberglass shower is equipped with surround and a glass shower door, while a skylight lets in the sunshine. The residential medicine cabinet comes with a mirror and storage for your toothbrushes and creams. The Thetford porcelain toilet has a foot pedal. Although modest in size, the Seneca bathroom provides you with everything you need and presents it to you in style.

Before you eat dinner at the dream dinette – it has the technology to lift and lower its tabletop – you have to cook it. Chop your veggies on the one-piece, solid-surface, kitchen countertops. Countertops are integrated with deep bowls and beautiful backsplash. Fry your veggies on the recessed three-burner range, which comes with a bi-fold recessed cover. If you’re really hungry you can pick some leftovers from your 12 cu. ft. refrigerator and heat it in the microwave. The fridge is equipped with an icemaker. Cabinetry throughout the kitchen comes in Washington Glazed solid-hardwood and features raised-panel doors throughout. All cabinet hinges are hidden.

Last but not least, let’s check out the living room. If you plan on spending a lot of time indoors and if you can’t live without TV, then request a front entertainment center. It features a 32” LED TV and a pullout bunk. The dinette and sofa offer ample seating space so you don’t have to fight over chairs.

The 2014 Jayco Seneca 37TS sells for around $200,000. For more information visit: http://www.jayco.com/.
