Quality is not what was expected from a Coleman product
By Robert Regnier (I am an Owner) on Sep 11, 2011I wonder why there are no reviews for this trailer. Maybe its because other potential buyers knew what to look for in terms of quality. We purchased it in early April for delivery on May 5th, 2011. From the first weekend in May 2011 we have had nothing but trouble with this brand new rv. Sinks do not ... drain properly, bulbs burn out, drawer locks break, door mouldings come apart, air mattresses with holes, defective fridge panels, damaged wood pantry doors, missing remotes, and worst of all the trailer leaks. This is brand new. It was built in Dec 2010. What does Dutchmen do about it, absolutely nothing. According to the dealer where we purchased the Rv, Dutchmen does not approve their in-warranty claims. Two months after we purchased the unit we were told by our sales rep that we could have purchased a trailer made by Kay Zee which is far superior in quality. Too bad he didn't mention this when we made the purchase. We had the trailer delivered May 5th, 2011. It is now Sept 11th,2011 and we are still waithing for parts which were supposed to be oredered on May 5th during the PDI. I wish we could have returned this unit especially after the leak. How do we know what is still wet between the walls. When will we notice the smell of mould or mildew. If you are looking for an RV, I would tell you not to look at this unit. Maybe Dutchmen makes better quality units. I would think that a trailer listed at $43,248.00 would have some quality & value built in. Unfortunately we are stuck with this unit for a few years. Our first new trailer in over 30 years of camping. We will not be buying a Dutchmen when we have the opportunity to get rid of this one. I have sent all of my info to Dutchmen which includes every note back & forth to the dealer. Not one call or any help from them. They did tell me in July to go to another dealer with my list of defective products and they might be able to help. Doesnèt make much sense to me. Buy my trailer at one dealer and then ask his competitor for help with in-warranty products. WE feel that we have been HAD with this purchase. It will not happen with our next RV purchase.Rating breakdown
