Coleman CTU240RB Travel Trailer
By JT (I am an Owner) on Sep 16, 2011Overall the camper is fantastic. It was everything we expected it to be. It tows very light and stable. It is feature rich. We like the outside stove. Storage is great too. The stereo is great with outside speakers. The electric awning is a nice touch...but ours was damaged in the wind. One ... of the arms collapsed. Costs $470 to replace it - major nightmare. We later foudn out there is a switch the awning manufaturer sells that you can install that will automatically reel in the awning if it senses movement from heavy wind. It goes for about $90 bucks. Would've been real nice if Dutchman/Coleman addded this when they built it. The industiral grade linoleum is a great feature. Makes sweeping it out great for pet owners. There are a few minor things we don't like, but we've decided to live with. The spacing between the foot of the bed and the wall where the TV sits is cramped. The length of the bed is a little too short for a 6-foot guy, due to the curvature of the headboard from the wall. We have to slide the bed out from the wall and this makes the foot of the bed sag over the edge. The mattress is pretty unconfortable. Changing it for another is on our to-do list. The sofa bed is VERY short. It would be good for small kids, but it is not good at all for adults. The camper actually sleeps only 4 adults - not 6. The angle of the TV is just awkward enough that the screen darkens out when you're trying to view it from the bed or laying on the couch. We suspect this is due to it being an LCD TV. The heater is very loud too. Works great - but will wake you up all night long every time it kicks on. The A/C will run you out. It is wonderful. Everything else is spot on. We attribute a lot of the little annoyances to personal preference. We've had NOTHING break unexpectedly outside of the wind causing damage to the awning. Overall, we'd give this 8 out of 10 stars.Rating breakdown
