By Mike (I am an Owner)I have used the CTU297RE for about a year now, and I am concerned this unit will not last.A supporting brace has fallen off the rear of the unit because the fasteners used were over tightened. Bubble over kitchen began leaking because the fasteners holding it the roof were over tightened to the point ... where the flange was were shattered. Bubble over bathroom has the same issue. Wood panels on side of fridge has come loose. Axles are 4200lbs units, yet the spec says 9600lbs capacity. Edging around dinette came off because the retaining screws were did not engage the undersurface. I am stunned that Coleman would allow their name to be put on a trailer with build quality as poor as this CTU297RE shows.Read More -

After two trips
By Mike Arnold (I am an Owner)We purchased this coach in September of 2013. After two trips of a combined 1000 miles we have mostly liked this unit. BUT, after trip number one the forward brace under the water take fell of in the driveway at my house. This was very strange because the tank was empty and unused on the first run. ... On the second run we found the fridge had not been plugged into the coaches electric system. The exterior finish seems good for now, however, the decals and striping have begun to un-peel from the fiberglass sides. According to the specifications the unit weight 7,000 pounds with a cargo carrying capacity of 2673, putting the weight at 9673 fully loaded. The Lipert axles on which the trailer rides are stickered at 4400lbs GVWR. Both axles suggest a weight capacity of 8,800lbs - about 800lbs less that the published specification. The interior is nicely arranged. The sleeping area and the fridge can be accessed without extending the slides. As usual, the clothes closets are too small for much. Just don't tip forward too far while sitting on the sleeping couchsofa, or it will flop forward on to the floor, with you in it. Seem the edge of the slide is in the perfect place to make that happen. As far as the dinette goes, just two adults. It's too small for anymore comfortably. I would rate the quality average with other Dutchman products, but not up to the Northwood units we've had in the past.Read More
