First coach
By Linda Day (I am an Owner) on Jan 04, 2013We have had our 2012 Southwind for about 6 months and absolutely love our coach. We have traveled in many different states and have had no trouble with the coach. The layout inside is very comfortable and is what drew us to the coach in the first place. We are still getting used to it, but have found ... that it very livable. The bedroom is spacious and has plenty of storage for two. In fact I still have left over room for clothes. The bathroom is far better than some I have used in overseas 4 star hotels. Again plenty of space. I enjoy cooking and my pantry is perfect. The movable island sets up easily and allows me to walk into the pantry. Again the galley has plenty of space for everything and is great to cook in. I would recommend this coach for folks looking for a great coach to start out with. Only thing we have done to the coach is add a steering stabilizer for additional stability in winds and bad roads.Rating breakdown

Great RV Product
By Michael Vreeland (I am an Owner) on Dec 01, 2012We bought this as a demo upgrading for a 2003 Southwind 36d. It has all the features we were after but as with any new product there were some issues - some design some not sure of. I will list all the items as something to look for or double check. The front AC temp monitor was located on the wall ... next to the Frig. It picked up the heat from the frig so when running the AC it was a meat locker up front. I loved it but the wife not so much. The solution was to move the front temp monitor to the underside the overhead cabinets about the dining table. Much better location. The cabinet hardware (above the entry door & the bedroom closet door) pulled out of the doors splitting the wood. The closet doors don't stay closed when driving down the road, they swing open and that is what caused the split wood. We will be using a velcro strap on the closet door handles when traveling. The entry door was a bit warped so it had to be "adjusted" but is fine now. It looked like they installed the rubber seal on the big slide wrong so it was fixed by the dealer. The bedroom slide would retract at a angle so that too had to be adjusted. The entertainment connections are not explained so we had to figure that one out. It would have been nice to have some sort of generic connection definition and wire diagram identifying what wires went where. An additional electrical plug on the slide out wall in the bedroom and the living room area would have been a nice touch. Teh 1/2 bath water facet is so low that it is almost unusable. I bought a goose neck facet at the dealer and it simply replaced the existing one. An easy fix but poorly designed. We had Maxx air covers installed on all vents, all windows were tinted, and the nose of the RV was covered in a 3M plastic product similar to Diamond Shield. I added Air Tabs to the rear to increase mpg but the best I can get is about 7 mpg. The previous sounds like a lot but only minor things and easily fixed. All in all the RV is great and product quality nicely done. We are very pleased with it and would highly recommend it to others. We are looking forward to enjoying it for the next 10 - 15 years.Rating breakdown
