Filling and keeping water in the Fresh water holding tank
By J. Bowden(Owner), Jul. 8, 2011
Bought in July 2010,,,,
From day 1 there has been a problem with filling the water tank on our Lexingto GTS. First of all...the water filling location for the free flowing filler and the city water filler are located directly below the bedroom slide out..and note there is lots of room to move this
...off to one side...second problem is the free flow filling tube opening is lower than the tank and thus creates problems with the water having to go downhill and then up again into the tank...this causes enormous water flow back out the filling tube....even slow water pressure doesn't help because the water doesn't really have enough force to get moved into the tank...and it takes a long time for the tube ups and downs to fill enough for the water to enter the tank....third problem is that the water comes back out of the filler tube quite often with the vehicle movement because the filler tube is on the side of the vehicle....just turn a few corners or even a bit of bumpy terrain in parks...and most of the water is lost......apparently in talking with the Opens Roads dealer in Stittsville On Canada...this is a common problem with Lexingtons....and by the way the filler cap on the outside was replaced by the dealer and said this was the problem for the water leakage....but it didn't help...that was in August 2010...and here it is July 8th 2011....took it back yesterday with the same problems...and was told nothing they could do...close to the end of the warranty period....u bet it is....so I guess they just want to wait it out....and then its my problem..
Any suggestions from anyone to correct the design flaw....or filling problems or even the water retention...please get back to me....
