Comfortable, quality built RV
By C J (I am an Owner) on Apr 09, 2017When I was shopping for an RV I wanted something with quality construction first of all. Surveyor ranked pretty highly on that list and I liked their layouts and options better than the rest.I love the all LED lighting with the push buttons that illuminate to find them in the dark. The Arctic Package ... is a wonderful feature as well to keep the unit colder in the summer months and helps on the chilly nights to keep the furnace from cycling too much. Mine also came with a rear mounted bike rack that is flat enough to carry other items too. Everything is put together well. The exterior doors that are magnetically held open are nice, the 18' awning is very nice, two doors is a plus and everything feels solid to the touch and not flimsy. There is PLENTY of storage space in the cabinetry inside and exterior. Lots of shoulder room going through the bathroom and around the bed. I never feel like I am constraining to the unit or feel cramped. I use an equalising hitch with an anti-sway bar. I have a heavy half ton with a tow rating of 10,800lbs and 2000lbs payload. With this setup the trailer tows very well and it handles rough roads, bumps and gravel very well with no drifting, excessive bounce or sway. I've never had the trailer wander on me in high wind, high speed conditions. -What I didn't like - It is impossible to go from the back of the trailer to the front with the slide out in. If you don't camp at Wal-Marts on your way to your destination, this won't bother you. Like a lot of manufacturers these days unfortunately, the units are assembled too quickly. I have not had any significant issues, just a bunch of minor ones: - roof trim fell off in several spots and had to be re-nailed and glued - heating pipe fell off in the bathroom and blew into the underbelly first, resulting in cold air blowing into the bathroom - range hood exhaust cover in the kitchen uses a stupid locking system where the tabs break off shortly after the first few uses. - awning switch was faulty - underbelly had several spots it was hanging down and required additional screws and filler to seal properly - Electric stability jacks came with too small of a fuse and pop the fuses if they are driven into the ground with just slightly over pressure to hold the trailer stable. There were several others that aren't worth mention. Some were outside of their control as they are just products they receive and install and there is always bound to be issues. The problems were rectified immediately, quickly and at no cost to me.Rating breakdown
