Good and the Ugly
By Rob Sterling (I am an Owner) on Sep 08, 2016Where to start... We have owned this RV for over a year and have had a few issues but overall it isn't all bad.I will start with the ugly. Design; although spacious, there are a few things I would have changed in this travel trailer. The kitchen tip out takes up space under the awning leaving only a ... few feet of sun protection. There is really no fix for this but it is something I wish was different. It is annoying enough that I would have bought a trailer without the tip out on this side. It would have been nicer having an extra window. Next design issue is that there isn't enough storage for clothing. The bedroom is fine even though the closets are not huge. The issue lies at the other end of the trailer. There is a closet in front of the bunks. However, it is only big enough for one person. Missing is an area for the other bunk's occupant's clothing items. The existing closet doesn't have enough room for 2 people especially if on an extended stay. Last design flaw or issue that I have is the table area. There isn't really enough room for a family of 4 to sit and eat at the same time. We really wanted wraparound seating at the table area but had to settle for the regular seating. Along with the design issues I have mentioned we also had some issues that required warranty work by the dealer. After dropping off the trailer to the dealer in late April for the warranty work, we left it for a couple of weeks before inquiring about the repair status. The dealer happened to call us a couple of days before we were going to call them. But, their call was to ask when we were going to drop off our trailer for the warranty work. You could imagine our feelings knowing they didn't know they had our trailer, or worse, it was missing from the lot. Luckily, it was quickly discovered they had it but hadn't started working on it. It took till almost the end of June before we saw our trailer again. Enough of that, I need to finish the ugly before going on to the good. For the repair issues; first of all, the stove exhaust fan only worked for 30 seconds after taking delivery of the trailer. The fan was replaced under warranty and works fine now. Next was the seat cushion covers; they rapidly wore at the outside edge. They too were replaced under warranty but receiving the cushions took a awhile. Now to the worst of the ugly. The CO monitor kept going off, especially at night. We thought it was due to low battery voltage but it would even happen when the battery was fully charged. I had to disconnect it. The dealer said they fixed the issue but after taking possession of the trailer after the warranty work we immediately had CO detector issues. I again disconnected it and even brought in a portable CO detector to see if we had a leak. Nope, no issue with CO. We are still dealing with this issue and now that the trailer is not under warranty anymore we expect to have to pay for the new detector out of pocket. So; that all being said, the trailer overall is pretty good. There is ample room in the bunks and the beds are comfortable. It looks luxurious inside. In fact I think it looks nicer than our house. Haha The bathroom is spacious and all of the appliances worked flawlessly. The fridge is large enough to feed a family of four and is really cold. It doesn't burn a lot of propane when left on for long periods of time during very hot weather. The furnace and air conditioner both work well. Once the warranty issues were started most of the issues were satisfactorily dealt with. Overall we are happy with the unit despite the ugly issues we encountered. I would recommend KZ and hope to have it for a very long time.Rating breakdown
