National Park Service Announces Fee-Free Days for 2014
If you were looking for an excuse to check out some of the United States’ amazing national parks, the National Park Service has recently announced a number of Fee-Free days for 2014.
The program provides several fee free days throughout the year at more than 100 national parks that usually charge entrance fees.
Fee waiver includes: entrance fees, commercial tour fees, and transportation entrance fees. Other fees such as reservation, camping, tours, concession and fees collected by third parties are not included unless stated otherwise.
The dates are:
January 20 – Martin Luther King Jr. Day
February 15-17 – Presidents Day weekend
April 19-20 – Opening weekend of National Park Week
August 25 – National Park Service Birthday
November 11 – Veterans Day
More information is available at.
Of course, only 133 of the country’s 401 national parks usually charge an entrance fee. For those planning to visit multiple national parks, an $80 annual pass provides entrance to all national parks, national wildlife reguges, national forests and more Federal lands. The America the Beautiful National Parks and Federal Recreational Lands Pass is offered free to all active duty military members and their dependents.
