2013 Dutchmen Komfort 2620 FRL Review
The Dutchmen Komfort Fifth Wheel has earned its reputation for innovation and interior design. Its smart floorplans maximize space and decrease clutter, while exuding beauty that other RVs fail to match.
Eight floorplans are available to choose from and we’ll be exploring the 2620 FRL, which boasts a large living room area and private bedroom. It has an unloaded weight of 8,617 lbs, cargo capacity of 1, 943 lbs and hitch weight of 1, 675 lbs. The Komfort has a length of 31’10”, height of 12’1” and width of 8’. For water, the Komfort 2620 FRL can carry 57 gallons of fresh water, 33 gallons of wastewater and 66 gallons of grey water. The furnace size is 30,000 BTUs.
Built on a stacked rail chassis and driven by aluminum wheels, the Komfort has fully laminated side and rear walls and Equa-Flex suspension. An “Eye Sight” Hitch-Vision Fiberglass front cap features an expanded turning radius. The front cap is equipped with a pair of LED loading lights. Windows are frameless and the safety glass windows are tinted. The Komfort’s primary baggage doors have slam latches and sewer hose storage is available. Located on its rear is a ladder and rear stabilizer jacks, which also come in the front of the fifth wheel. Use the wireless remote control system to operate the power front landing gear, power rear stabilizers, power patio awning, exterior patio light and the main slide out room. Grab the pivoting entry handle and walk into your home through the tall entry door, featuring a light that flashes “Welcome back.”

Once you are inside you’ll be quick to notice the residential wood window blinds in the living area. Although simple, they add to the well-designed cottage-like ambience. Windows also have wrought iron treatments with stylish curtains. Halogen ceiling lighting brightens the home when night falls or when the curtains are drawn. Walk along the Beauflor No Crack Premium floors and notice the beautiful maple cabinetry throughout. The Komfort’s slide rooms are equipped with designer wallboards that add privacy and style to the interior.
Although we love the great outdoors, sometimes all we want to do is kick back, crack open a beer and watch a football game. Walk into Komfort’s living room and collapse on a rocker, located directly across from the entertainment center. Here you’ll find a Sony 5.1 Surround Sound System with AM/FM/CD/DVD Player, as well as Cable and Satellite prep. An exterior stereo with MP3 connections is available as an option. If you like taking naps in front of the television then lie down on the sofa sleeper instead. It poses as a stylish sofa by day and a bed by night. Leave your magazines and picture frames on the end table, located between two rockers.

The family chef will love cooking in the spacious kitchen. Store leftovers in the eight-cubic-foot double door refrigerator. For quick reheating, use the microwave oven. If you prefer cooking a new meal to leftovers, you can prepare your meal on the Solid Surface kitchen countertops and pop it in the oven. The Komfort also features a three-burner range and you can wash your dirty pots in the stainless steel kitchen sink, equipped with a pull out sprayer. Enjoy your meals at the freestanding dinette, located directly beside a large window.
Located between the bedroom and kitchen is the bathroom, which features a shower surround with a glass door, giving you ample room to scrub and rinse. The toilet comes with a toilet tissue holder, putting your frantic toilet paper searches to an end. A 12V exhaust fan will get rid of any unpleasant odors and a bath skylight to welcome in natural light. Ample room is available on the sink counter for grooming and powdering accessories.

After a long day on the road, the driver should get dibs on the Master Bedroom. More spacious than the average fifth wheel bedroom, this one offers storage, walking room and a wardrobe. Shut the nightshades, turn on the television – the bedroom comes with TV hookup and LCD TV prep – and relax with your significant other before you fall asleep. A nightstand is located on each side of the bed, where you can keep alarm clocks and books. Overhead storage is available above the bed. A large wardrobe allows you to store blouses, trousers and jackets without worrying about clothes wrinkling.
