Although 21st century Americans are no longer in search of gold, the KZ Durango GoldRush fifth wheel is a good choice for those seeking luxury on their adventurous road trips.

Out of the two GoldRush floorplans, we chose to explore the Nugget. Its layout smartly utilizes space while creating a cozy atmosphere. With its residential furniture and separated rooms, the GoldRush Nugget is a place you could call home.

This model has an unloaded vehicle weight rating of 11,610 lbs, dry hitch weight of 2,250 lbs, dry axle weight of 9,360 lbs, net carrying capacity of 2,890 lbs and gross vehicle weight rating of 14,500 lbs. It has an interior height of 76”, exterior height of 12’11”, exterior width of 101” and exterior length of 40’6”. For liquids, it has: a water heater capacity of 12 gallons, fresh water capacity of 67 gallons, waste water capacity of 57 gallons and gray water capacity of 57 gallons.

The nugget’s wide structure is built on a six-sided aluminum frame. Its Reflective Insulation includes the roof, floor, front, and rear. Night owls will appreciate the 12V interior and exterior LED lighting, along with the bright light at the step well. Finally evening barbeques can be enjoyed outdoors, rather than being brought inside. With the Nugget’s auto leveling system, you’ll never worry about overloading. Convenience is literally at your fingertips; your one-touch remote controls the slides, awning, lights and leveling.

Step inside the GoldRush Nugget and you are in the kitchen. With decorative backsplash and hidden hinge cabinets, you might be motivated to cook dinner. Dig some veggies out of the eight-cubic-foot refrigerator and master your chopping skills on the solid-surface countertops. With a built-in pull-out spice rack and a built-in pull-out trash bin, you’ll be shocked at how much you can do with a small kitchen space. After you’re finished chopping and spicing, toss your concoction into the flush-mounted oven, equipped with a glass cover. Impatient cooks can toss their concoctions in the 30” OTR microwave. The kitchen also has an island with a sink and counter space. Lit by a pendant light that hangs above, the island looks like a small oasis. Enjoy meals at the dining table, which comes with four chairs.

An adventurous day of trekking should be awarded with an evening of relaxation. The Goldrush Nugget has a living room that is designed for your lazy needs. Find your perfect position on the deluxe theatre seating and turn on your 39” LED television. If you feel like spreading out horizontally, then collapse on the deluxe sleeper sofa, instead. Either way, you’ll be comfortable; especially if you turn on the ceiling fan and get that cool breeze in your hair. With frameless tinted windows you won’t have to worry about being seen by the neighbors.

Before you head to sleep, you might want to do some brushing and scrubbing in the bathroom. The one-piece fiberglass shower has a built-in seat, bringing bathing to whole new levels of comfort. Triple sliding doors keep the water in the shower so you don’t have to worry about swimming back to the living room. Of course, there’s a porcelain toilet and a medicine cabinet. You even have a small space to put your linens.

When you’re ready to hit the sac, turn off the lights and head to your bedroom. With its King-size bed, the bedroom is a perfect place to recharge. The bed comes with an 80” long pillow top mattress and luxurious bedspread with shams. The over-sized walk-in closet can store anything from shoes to clothes to electronics. If you plan on traveling in the tropics, then you might want to request a second air conditioner in the bedroom. Those who can only fall asleep to the murmurs of a television can also pay extra for a bedroom TV.

The KZ Durango GoldRush Nugget comes with many options. You can upgrade to a 12-cubic-foot side-by-side refrigerator. You can also ask for dual pane windows. If you want the Nugget to really feel like home, then get a fireplace installed. Cyclists can get a flip-up bike tray and those who hate dealing with Laundromats can add a washer and dryer.
