2014 Shasta Revere 27KS Review
The Shasta Revere feels bigger on the inside than it is on the outside. With 7’ ceilings and deep slide-outs, you’ll think you’re sitting in a spacious apartment, not in a travel trailer. If you’re looking for a home on wheels, then you might want to consider the Revere, which has an easy-living design, but is also incredibly easy to tow.
Eleven Revere floorplans are available to choose from. We’ll be looking at the 27KS – an ideal option for a couple that loves to cook and wants lots of living space. The Revere 27KS has a dry hitch weight of 785 lbs and unloaded vehicle weight of 6,606 lbs. It has an exterior length of 30’11”, exterior height of 11’5” and exterior width of 96”. The 27KS has a fresh water capacity of 50 gallons, gray water capacity of 45 gallons and black water capacity of 45 gallons. A 20-foot awning provides a shady spot to enjoy the great outdoors.
Built on a cambered steel I-beam frame, the Shasta Revere is made to last. Even its one-piece rubber roof has a 12-year warranty. The Revere features electric flush floor slide rooms and R-7 fiberglass insulation in the sidewalls, floor and roof. Its aerodynamic radius front profile makes it easy to tow and it also has radius wood rafters, while its floor decking features 5/8 tongue and groove plywood. A screen on the radius entry door makes you feel like you’re home rather than camping in the woods, while the lighted pass thru storage allows you to find cumbersome objects in the darkest of nights.

With a 7’ interior height and a 6’1” slide height, the interior’s space is ample and feels much bigger than it is. The cabinets, equipped with glazed cabinet doors, are pocket-bored and screwed. The overhead cabinet has etched glass doors in super slides and even comes with mini blinds. With Beauflor tile flooring throughout the space, the Shasta Revere looks high quality, rather than a towed home. You can request nightshades and even a fireplace, if you’re really looking for that homey ambience. The living room has box valances and a residential-style sofa. The entertainment center features cable TV hookup and, if requested, a 32” LED flat screen TV.
We’ll start with our favourite room: the kitchen. The family cook will love the counter space and appliances. The recessed three-burner cooktop has a high output burner and Piezo lighter. There’s also a range hood equipped with an exhaust fan. You can request an eight-cubic-foot double-door refrigerator and a skylight. For desert, you can prepare a batch of cookies in the large oven. A real wood butcher-block stove cover adds to the warm design of the Revere’s interior. All drawers have full extension ball bearing drawer guides, which means drawers are easy to open and close, while providing ample room for storage. Enjoy family dinners at the dinette, which is lit by a beautiful, residential-style light above.

At the end of the day, recharge in your bedroom. Crawl into your bed and turn on your TV, which has cable TV hookup. You won’t run out of storage space because you have plenty of storage options to choose from, including two full-length mirrored shirt closets, extra large overhead cabinets and even an under-bed storage compartment.

Like most travel trailers, the bathroom is simple. There’s a marine toilet with foot flush and a medicine cabinet, equipped with a mirror. The large sink gives you plenty of room for brushing and washing, while a powered roof vent brings in some fresh air and a skylight in the shower brightens up the room. If you plan on traveling with a big group, then you can also make use of the outside shower.
Built for the outdoors, the Shasta Revere comes with the “Camping With Ease” package. This package gives you a microwave, AM/FM.CD/DVD with Bluetooth, two exterior speakers and a six-cubic-foot refrigerator, which can of course be upgraded to the previously mentioned eight-cubic-foot double-door model.
