2015 Thor Miramar 34.2 Review
Drive into the future with the 2015 Thor Miramar Class A. Combining style, space and storage, the Miramar is a luxury home on wheels.
Four floorplans are available to choose from and all include large bathrooms, basements, and bedrooms. The 34.2 won us over with its spacious living area and king-sized bed. Its gross vehicle weight rating is 22,000 lbs and gross combined weight rating is 26,000 lbs. It has an exterior length of 35’ 10”, exterior height of 12’ 9”, exterior width of 101”, and interior height of 82”. The Miramar Class A 34.2 has a fresh water capacity of 100 gallons, black water capacity of 40 gallons, gray water capacity of 40 gallons, and a water heater capacity of six gallons. Lastly, its exterior storage space is 178 cu. ft.
Built on a Ford F53 SuperDuty chassis, the Miramar Class A is fit for long rides and wild weather. It has a fully welded tubular steel floor system, along with a cage construction that also features a fully welded tubular aluminum roof and sidewall. The Miramar also features a crowned TPO roof, protected from sun damage, heat and acid rain. The front and rear caps are made of one-piece fiberglass. Conveniently, Miramar’s automatic hydraulic leveling jacks are equipped with touchpad controls. The power patio awning comes with integrated LED lighting. The Thor Motor Coach MEGA-Storage compartment makes “packing light” a thing of the past. With side hinged luggage doors and seamless rotocast storage compartments, you won’t have to hide belongings in kitchen cupboards. The exterior is equipped with a roof ladder, patio light and double electric entry step.

Powering the Miramar 34.2 is a 6.8L V10 that churns out 362 horsepower and 457 lb-ft of torque.
Next is the cockpit. Long rides don’t have to numb your posterior and bore you to sleep. The six-way leather driver’s seat reclines and swivels at your convenience. Both the driver and passenger have three-point seat belts. Stay awake during long rides by turning on the touchscreen dash radio, equipped with a CD Player. Heated exterior mirrors come with integrated side view cameras. The dash mounted PC workstation includes 120-volt and 12-volt outlets. Tilt steering wheel, dash fans, map light, and drink holders are also standard features. If you’re taking a fast food break, then utilize the stow-away table located between the driver and passenger.
If you’re not a fan of fast food, then head to the kitchen instead. With large solid surface kitchen countertops and an extension countertop drawer, cooking can be fun for the whole family. Store food in the 11 cu. ft. residential refrigerator, equipped with an icemaker. Prepare a quick stir-fry on the three-burner gas cooktop or throw a frozen pizza in the oven. If you’re really hungry or lazy, heat leftovers in the over-the-range microwave. The sink is equipped with solid surface covers, which means dirty dishes can be hidden from unexpected guests. The pantry is large enough to store cereal boxes, canned goods and all other unrefrigerated edibles. When dinner’s ready, enjoy it at the dream dinette booth, which can double as a sleeping area. If you plan on travelling in a large group, then request a drop-down overhead bunk, which is also be located in the kitchen.

If you’re like us, then after a big dinner you’ll probably want to take a nap. Walk next door to the leatherette sofa, which comes with an airbed, and choose your entertainment. The 32” LED TV is equipped with a DVD Player, television switch box, antenna, and booster. The space is Cable TV/satellite ready and features HDMI video distribution. Your Smart Phone will be thankful for the power-charging center for electronics.
Before you head to bed, you can’t forget to brush your teeth. You are welcomes into the Miramar bathroom with a stylish design and spacious layout. The shower has a glass door and a skylight. A foot flush porcelain toilet and a power vent complete the package.

When you need to recharge, escape to your bedroom, which features a king-sized Denver mattress with bedspread and pillow shams. Bedroom windows feature lambrequin window treatments and privacy shades. Being on the road doesn’t mean you have to miss your favourite shows; turn on your 24” LED TV. If you’d rather fall asleep to music, turn on your Bluetooth coach radio system, which comes with exterior speakers. The bedroom also comes with two nightstands, three closets and washer/dryer prep.
If you’d rather spend your time outdoors, then request some outdoor amenities. You can get an exterior kitchen with a 2.5 cu. ft. refrigerator, sink and portable gas grill. You can also get an exterior 32” LED television.
