2018 Livin’Lite CampLite 6.8 Review

The Livin’Lite CampLite truck campers are ultralight and compact, perfect for easy and economical towing. The Livin’Lite 6.8 is the second smallest of the five floorplans available.

It has an unloaded vehicle weight of 2,026 lbs so it’s an easy haul by a short-bed pick-up. Its exterior width is 7’6”, it is 8’9” high (when off the truck), and 14’2” long. It has a fresh water capacity of 19 gallons, and a black water tank capacity of 27 gallons.

The camper is aluminum framed and has laminated, vacuum-bonded walls. Features like the exterior shower and two exterior speakers make outdoor living even better, and you can opt for an awning as well to create a sheltered space.

Stepping inside, the interior height is 6’8”. You have a choice of two color schemes – light wood or dark – as well as an optional third scheme which is black leatherette and aluminum face cabinetry. Keeping the space feeling airy, the overhead cabinetry has inset etched glass panels.

The bathroom is just inside the entrance door. It’s a wet bath, with a toilet, stainless steel sink, and handheld showerhead. A solid surface countertop gives it a more residential feel and brings the space up a notch past a standard wet bath.

The kitchen also has the same great solid surface countertops with a sink cover, and a flush-mount cooktop with a glass top that creates more prep space. The glass easily flips up (acting as a backsplash) so you can access the two burners. There’s a stainless steel undermount sink with high rise faucet, which makes doing dishes much easier. A window above the sink lets in some light and gives you a view of outside while you prepare your meals. A convection microwave oven above counter acts as both your oven and microwave. Along the wall beside the kitchen prep area, you’ll find an electrical outlet as well as the tank monitoring panel and the thermostat.

The sofa is L-shaped and the longer section converts quite easily into extra sleeping space: simply flip up a support panel and place the back cushion across it. A nice wide window behind the sofa lets plenty of natural light into the space. The window looks out over the side of the camper where the exterior speakers and your outdoor living goes on. Above the sofa, Overhead cabinet doors are strut-supported to make it easy to load and unload items. The Bluetooth DVD/CD/MP3 stereo unit is also right above the sofa, and also has a USB charger so you can power up your phone or tablet while hanging out on the sofa. Along the wall behind the smaller section of the sofa, there’s a small removable window so that you can access the back of your truck if you need to.

Step up to the queen-size bed. A wardrobe cabinet with a hanging rod provides lots of space to hang your clothes, and there’s also a cubby space beside the bed, along with a foot locker. There’s space at the foot of the bed to mount an optional television for bedtime movies, and a window along one to let in a little breeze. The bottom half of the mattress flips up during the daytime to give you access to the three-way powered refrigerator, which is alongside the foot of the bed.
