2016 Jayco Precept 31UL
By Jim G (I am an Owner) on Oct 14, 2016Overall the unit has been satisfactory. Issues with us were:1. Front passenger and driver seat not real comfortable on long trip. Seats are hard unlike our soft ones from a previous MH2. Front shade doesn't come down far enough to act as a sunshield. Dealer put in new motor.3. The radio turned on ... on it's own causing it to drain battery. Had to have it jumped. Come to find out it was a defective radio. It also controls the electric mirror motors and cameras. These did not work on an intermitted basis. Mfg. has replaced with new model of radio. Still to see if that fixed the issue. The radio and it's problems was our major complaint. Puzzling as to why there isn't a CD player with the unit. We have all of these CD's we could play. And you can't use any apple (Ipad; Ipod) in the USB for some reason. 4. Passenger window whistled. Discovered that when trying to lock the window the latch didn't latch properly and was creating a slight space for wind to come in. If we unlocked it, it didn't whistle. Dealer replaced the window. 5. Windshield wipers do not clean all the way across in front of driver. Dealer couldn't fix. The large window is one of their marketing items. If they can't get a wiper to sweep all the way across for the driver then they need a smaller window. 6. The door kept coming open while driving. We really had to slam hard. This has been adjusted. 7. Not much we can do about it but I'm not overly impressed with the hide a bed/couch. Too many sections so one gets back ache easily. 8. Refrigerator kept on showing LoDC when not on electricity. Dealer indicated low battery and charged it up. Didn't make much since as our batteries were brand new. I guess we'll see if that worked. The coach drives real nice on the highway and overall we are happy with it. It just is crazy as to why there always seems to be issues to be taken care of. Seems as if the manufactures build these, send them out and then expect the dealers to fix or finish the coaches. What ever happened to quality control coming out of the plant. My guess is that as Thor takes over the quality, or at least service, will deteriorate. My last MH was a Thor and we swore we wouldn't buy another. We didn't actually know they bought Jayco until after we bought this one. I had owned a Jayco previously and didn't even have to take it back to the dealer for any work whatsoever.Rating breakdown
