There are many reasons why you go camping, and one of the big ones has to be to spend time with your family. And the 2013 Lance Ultralight Travel Trailer series is built with the family in mind. Easy to hitch and tow, this travel trailer is ready to pick up and go whenever you are.


In Lance’s Ultralight series, eight different floorplans are available to choose from. We’re going to take a closer look at the 2385, the largest model in the line. This full wide slide model measures in with a length of 28’, exterior width of 96”, exterior height of 119”, and interior height of 78”. The 2385 has a gross dry weight of 4,250 lbs, hitch dry weight of 465 lbs, GVWR of 6,300 lbs, axle weight of 3,785, and cargo carrying capacity of 2,000 lbs. For water, it was a fresh-tank capacity of 45 gallons, gray-tank capacity of 80 gallons, and black-tank capacity of 40 gallons. As well, it has a 25,000 BTU furnace with heat ducts.


Compact and light enough to tow with a large SUV or truck, the 2385 Ultralight is made using aluminum framed floors, walls and ceiling, and a one-piece TPO roof, as well as Azdel lightweight, eco-friendly substrates in order to keep its weight down. Giving it a sleek yet strong appearance is its laminated and bonded fiberglass exterior. To keep the climate indoors as comfortable as possible, the 2385 comes equipped with block foam insulation and a laminated and insulated floor and roof. And to keep rocks and other debris from damaging your travel trailer, the 2385 comes with a diamond plate lower front stone guard.

It’s not just one thing that makes living in the great outdoors better – it’s all the small things. Like the manual stabilizer jacks that help keep the 2385 trailer stable at the campsite. Or the cable/satellite hookups that give you both cable and satellite TV without switching cables on the TV. And there’s even a black tank flush sprayer for cleaning your holding tank, as well as a 12 Volt disconnect that gives you an easy power shut-off. To top it all off, this Lance travel trailer features an exterior BBQ hook-up to make grilling fast, safe and easy no matter where you are.


Some exterior options you may consider adding on include a power awning, awning slideout cover, bike rack, dual pane insulated windows, electric stabilizer jacks, electric tongue jack, ladder, pull-out storage tray, and spare tire.

Roomy enough to sleep floor, the 2385 Ultralight’s interior is pack full of features. There are three décor options to choose from – Hot Spot, Jet Stream and Rain Forest. Complementing the décor are hardwood framed flat panel glazed cabinet doors. For privacy, this Lance travel trailer comes outfitted with a day/night shade in the dinette area (with a valance box) and mini-blinds in the galley and living area (with valance box). Other décor features include a wall clock and a key hanger.


For your dining pleasure, the 2385 Ultralight is a chef’s delight. This area is outfitted with a two-way 6 cu. ft. refrigerator (along with black upgraded refrigerator door panels), a three-burner range and an optional microwave oven. If you like to rock out while you cook, this Lance travel trailer comes with an AM/FM/DVD/iPod stereo with interior and exterior speakers. For eating your meals, take a seat in the booth U-shaped dinette. Other great kitchen features include a double sink with a pullout faucet and cover, wood magazine and spice racks, and roll-out storage drawers. Available kitchen options include a three-burner high output range with an oven and a cover.

Getting a great night’s sleep won’t be an issue in the 2385 Ultralight. You’ll love retiring to the master bedroom, where you’ll find a 60×80” queen-sized bed, complete with an innerspring pillow-top mattress and bedspread and a headboard. If you want to stay up late to read, take advantage of the LED reading lights. And to shut yourself away from everyone else in the trailer, just use the privacy divider doors. Optional bedroom features include a Bed Maid.


In the bathroom, you’ll be able to do all the basics. The 2385 Ultralight comes with a shower, a porcelain foot pedal flush toilet and a lavatory sink. Other bathroom features include a dual pane skylight, ducted heat outlet, and medicine cabinet with a mirror door and vanity light.
