If your family prefers adventures off the beaten path to lazy vacations in tropical resorts, then the Palomino Puma travel trailer might be a good option for you. Built for rugged terrain, it’s designed to be easy to tow just about anywhere you want to go.

Palomino offers a whopping 19 Puma floorplans – we will be exploring the 28-DSBS, which sleeps five. The Puma 28-DSBS has a dry hitch weight of 858 lbs, unloaded vehicle weight of 6,823 lbs, gross vehicle weight rating of 9,636 lbs and cargo carrying capacity of 2,700 lbs. It has an exterior length of 32’1”, exterior height of 11’1” and exterior width of 96”. For water, the fresh tank water capacity is 51 gallons, the gray water tank capacity is 84 gallons and the black water capacity is 32 gallons.

Built on a powder coated steel I-beam frame, the Puma’s construction is designed to be reliable and long lasting. It has floor-ducted heating and a Next Generation enclosed and heated water tank. Beauflor linoleum flooring is cold and crack resistant. A residential grade carpet, equipped with a pad, covers some of the floors.

Moving up to the walls, fiberglass insulation is cut and glued between sidewall studs. Covered in aluminum skin, the Puma 28-DSBS has a patio light and exterior hitch light for midnight hook ups. The rubber roof, which comes with a 12-year warranty, has 3/7” roof decking.

Walk in through the radius doors and find yourself in a small hallway that leads to the living room. Real wood can be found throughout the space in the drawers and cabinets. If your family loves entertainment then request an AM/FM/CD/DVD stereo and a TV antenna with booster and cable hook-up, as well as a 26” or 32” LCD television for the living area. Those who are serious about quality entertainment can upgrade to an AM/FM/CD/DVD home theatre surround sound system.

Across from the sofa is the kitchen, equipped with an overhead skylight. Skylights usually come in trailer bathrooms, so this is a unique and convenient addition. The large countertops make chopping and cleaning an easy task. Your wheeled abode comes with a knife rack, spice rack and divided silverware drawers. The drawers have ball bearing drawer guides, making opening and closing an easy task.

Wash dishes in the deep double bowl sink, equipped with a high-rise kitchen faucet. If there’s a Martha Stewart in your family, request a 21” oven. Food can be stored in the pantry and double door refrigerator. When you’ve finally prepared your meal, enjoy it at the spacious dinette, located beside a large window, in view of the television. Choose your distraction.

After a big meal, you might want to escape to your bedroom and go for a snooze. Collapse on your Queen bed, equipped with an innerspring mattress and bedspread. If you like watching television before bed, then request a bedroom TV hookup. Storage space is ample in the bedroom: two nightstands, two overhead shirt closets and a full-length wardrobe.

The second bedroom is not really a bedroom. It’s just a bed. In a travel trailer, what more do you need? The double-stacked double bed has storage underneath so even your guests have a place to put their prized possessions. An accordion door separates the bed from the rest of the space, giving your guests or children the privacy they deserve after a long day in the wild outdoors.

More spacious than you’d expect, the Palomino Puma’s bathroom is quipped with a power vent, so you don’t have to worry about bad smells going into the guest bedroom and you don’t have to worry about stuffiness. Shower in the 40” tub, lit by a 12V shower light. You can request bath skylights if you like natural light. Store toiletries in the wood medicine cabinet and groom in front of the mirrored door.

If your family loves being outside, even when they’re at home, request the outdoor amenities. Get an outside grill and invite the neighbors for burgers. If you get really messy on your outdoor adventures, then request an outside shower, where you can rinse your feet before walking inside.
