2015 Crossroads Carriage CG40RE Review
Equipped with modern features and designer-inspired décor, the CrossRoads Carriage will breathe luxury into your road trips.
We’ve decided to explore the CG40RE, one of two Carriage floorplans to choose from. The 2015 Crossroads Carriage CG40RE has a dry weight of 13,698 lbs, gross vehicle weight rating of 16,500 lbs, carrying capacity of 2,802 lbs, hitch weight of 2,880 lbs, and axle weight of 10,818 lbs. Breaking out the measuring tape, the CG40RE has an exterior length of 39’3” and exterior height of 13’2”. For liquids, it has a fresh water capacity of 104 gallons, black water capacity of 45 gallons, and gray water capacity of 84 gallons.
Constructed with a double-welded aluminum frame, the Carriage’s underbelly is fully enclosed and heated, as are the water lines. The aluminum framing is 3” with 11” on center. Construction features include 5/8” tongue and groove plywood, and seamless residential heat ducts, 5” stamped steel galvanized roof trusses, and a double truss at each A/C. The full walk-on roof has a 5” radius metal roof cap, and 3/8” plywood roof decking.

When you walk into the Crossroads Carriage, you’ll find yourself in a large kitchen. Soft Maple hardwood cabinets create a warm atmosphere, while the residential-style appliances create a beautiful contrast between traditional country and modern luxury. You can wash veggies in the LG solid surface sink, equipped with a stainless steel double sink basin, high rise faucet with a pull-out sprayer, and sink covers. Then you can chop them up on the LG solid surface countertops. Store cutlery in the residential-sized storage drawers and hide pots in the Pots & Pan storage area. All drawers have full extension ball bearing guides and all cabinetry has hidden hinges.
The 13-gallon slideout trashcan comes with a storage shelf and the large pantry comes with a coffee & toast station. Other kitchen amenities include a residential refrigerator, three-burner flush mount stove with surface covers, 22”, and 30 OTR microwave that comes with an exhaust fan. The family cook will feel right at home in Carriage’s spacious and modern kitchen.
After having dinner at the dinette, head to the living room to relax. You can lie down on the residential sofa, which comes with a pull out drawer, or you can sit back in the residential Wall Hugger recliner. You can also choose the theater seating while watching your favourite show on the 55” LG LED HD television. If you’re not in the mood for TV, then turn on the electric fireplace. To brighten the space, turn on the round LED ceiling lights, which also come with accent lights.

If you need a nap, escape to the Master Suite. The opposing bedroom slides create an industry-leading bedroom, located on the opposite side of the living room. The bedroom provides a private and silent escape from the rest of your family. Collapse on the Queen bed, which can be upgraded to a King. It is equipped with a luxurious bedspread and pillow. If you want to sleep, roll down the nightshades. Otherwise, you can turn on your 39” LG LED HD television. Store your clothes in one of two His and Her dressers. You can also choose to store clothes in the walk-in wardrobe, which features built-in shelving. The bedroom also comes with Washer/Dryer prep.
If the Crossroads Carriage was judged by the luxury of its bathroom, it would impress the pickiest of princesses. You can store your linens in the large linen closet and keep toiletries in the large medicine cabinet, equipped with a mirror. Hang your towels on the hooks, which are on the bathroom door. The one-piece molded fiberglass shower has an adjustable showerhead and a domed skylight. To get in and out of the shower, use the tri-fold glass shower door.
