2017 Thor Outlaw 37BG Review
The Thor Outlaw is the ultimate toy hauler, providing you with a large garage that can be used to store your two-wheelers, office supplies, drum sets and family members. Essentially, Thor gives you the garage; you decide what goes inside.
Although the Outlaw isn’t a brand new addition to the Thor family, the 2017 version comes with some new features that will make you the talk of the RV town. Among these features are some fancy interior décor color options, along with vinyl flooring, beautiful window treatments and a bedding package. Other additions include high-gloss glazed solid wood cabinetry color options, drop-down Zero-G ramp door and a snap-in patio system. Four Outlaw Class A floorplans are available to choose from; we’ve decided to explore the 37BG, which features a garage equipped with dual sleeper sofas and a Queen top bunk.
For specs, the Thor Outlaw 37BG has a gross vehicle weight rating of 26,000 lbs and gross combined weight rating of 30,000 lbs. Its exterior width is 101” and exterior height (with A/C) is 13’3”. Its interior height is 80”. For tank capacities, the Outlaw 37BG has a fresh water capacity of 100 gallons, black water capacity of 43 gallons, gray water capacity of 43 gallons and water heater capacity of 6.0 gallons. It features a Ford F-53 chassis and 6.8L V10 engine with 320 HP.

The Thor Outlaw is built to make your road trips comfortable and safe. It features a welded tubular steel floor system and automatic levelling jacks with touch pad controls. For your safety, it is equipped with rear spotlights, patio lights and power patio awning with integrated LED lights. When you’re ready to go inside, walk up the electric automatic entry steps and walk through the entry door, which comes with a deadbolt lock.
The cockpit is designed to make the driver as comfortable as possible. Have a seat in the reclining/swivel leatherette captain’s chair and place your coffee in the drink holder. To keep you entertained while you drive, turn on the touchscreen AM/FM dash radio with CD/DVD Player, Bluetooth, Back-Up Monitor and mirror display. If you’re cruising on the freeway, you can turn on cruise control. If you’re not driving, you can make use of the power solar and privacy shades on the windshield, and enjoy your coffee at the stow-away coffee table. The dash is conveniently equipped with a generator start switch and fans.

When you need to take a break from driving, put your RV in park and take a walk to the living room. With residential vinyl flooring throughout the space, leatherette theatre seating and an electric fireplace, you’ll feel right at home. You can kick back on the sofa and watch your 40” LED TV, equipped with HDMI video distribution, DVD player and cable TV prep. The entertainment center is also equipped with a Bluetooth Coach radio system with app control and exterior speakers. To keep your electronics charged, you even get a power-charging center. With its dinette, sofa and two swivel chairs, the living room can comfortably accommodate six people.
Your family cook will be thankful for Outlaw’s kitchen. Equipped with ample counter space, a large pantry and overhead cabinetry, there is plenty of room to store all your kitchen essentials. You can chop veggies on the solid surface countertops, store leftovers in the 11-cubic-foot double-door residential refrigerator, and reheat them in the 30” over-the-range stainless steel microwave oven. The large, double bowl sink comes with a single handle faucet with a pull-down sprayer, and the three-burner cooktop comes with an oven. When dinner’s ready, you can serve it at the dream dinette, located right beside panoramic windows.
The spacious bathroom exceeds the expectations of a toy hauler. It features a foot flush porcelain toilet, shower with a glass door and a skylight. Equipped with a pullout wardrobe, you’ll have more than enough space for your linens.

Last but not least is the garage/bedroom. Equipped with a dual sleeper sofa and Queen top bunk, it’s the best room in the house to get a good night’s sleep. Before you close your eyes, you can get comfortable on the bed and watch some TV on the 50” LED TV. On top of that, the ramp door acts as a patio deck, providing you with a great space to enjoy the fresh air while sipping your morning coffee.
