Is it a Lemon or Built on the wrong day
By Merle Jewett (I am an Owner) on Apr 27, 2017Our Momentum has been in the shop for repairs ,either waiting for parts or being repaired and returning parts and waiting again, as much time as it has been used. We travel a lot and found the hype over the momentum enough for us to consider the 350M. There are two things going for you when purchasing ... the Unit itself and the dealer you purchase from. We have a problem with both. Items that have broke or did not work are; a. Refrigerator door adjustment and broken crisper on delivery b. Missing components upon deliver c. Missing mattress just a mat that was called a mattress d. Main awning broke the first time it was put out. Very flimsy metal and it binds up. e. Kitchen slide tips out at top while driving down the road. If this happens and the ref. doors opens and a pop can rolls out it can and will stick under the slide the next time it tips out keeping it out while driving. This has happened two times. not back from the shop yet but they say it is now fixed. f. Light circuits are not appropriate for the size of the vehicle and the electronic control needs wiring up a little differently. g. The electronic controls only works well for the Jack system the rest is a pain in the arse to work. h. For unkown reason the jacks can be relieved of pressure and the sudden drop will wake you up when sleeping. Put you at an angle also. I. The bedroom bunk jack will just decide to fall at will you can be watching tv and all of a sudden you hear a crash and it is down on top of your side by side. j. Storage is awkward k. Bunk ladders are metal and will hurt bare feet while trying to get into bed l. no storage area for ladders bed bunk and rear deck ect. etc etc Dealers could possibly make the difference but now days it seems you have to make an appointment two weeks away to sit in the yard for two weeks to wait for parts and then to return parts and get the correct parts. Priority at most dealers is to prepare the new one for delivery and warranty comes in second or even maybe third to a better paying job. Not sure about this one. My advice go to the momentum factory and see actually how they are made. Ask others that have had problems, find them, and ask about your dealer. I did neither I believed the hype and the ratings that a writer and non rv'r had posted. I like most things about the momentum but it will take another 2500 to make it liveable. Just to much hype over things that do not function as the engineer expected Like ductless heating Does not work so always have electric back up. Merle Jewett ps I am not loading any pictures as yours may not be what my wife calls our mock up model and most of our pictures are of the broken parts. And we have not listed everything that is wrong. The refrigerator works though..Rating breakdown
