Looks good from far but far from good
By Kevin (I am an Owner) on May 15, 2019After using the trailer only twice, we have come across the following:1) The awning leaks at several places where it meets the trailer. It needs to be replaced completely.2) The driver's side walls on the trailer and the bump out are defective. ( you can see all the joints in the fiberglass). The whole ... wall should be replaced. 3)The bump out itself is not assembled properly: ( the molding on the wheel well rubs up against the skirt on one side, on the other the wall is bowed in leaving a large gap between the skirt) 4)The skirting by the rear door has no bracing and rubs up against the stairs. 5)The water pump, which was silent at first, now makes the whole trailer shake. 6)The set of drawers at the entrance don't stay closed during travel. 7) The center lower drawers need to be repainted, they are discolored. 8) The panel beside the couch has come apart for no reason. 9) The LED lights in the front are peeling. 10) The mattress is terrible. 11) The nails are visible on the upper cabinetry. 12) The quick connect for the BBQ is poorly installed...too tight and hard to plug in. 13) I have had to fix myself both the screen doors and the main doors. There were tiny screws installed that broke preventing the doors from closing properly or having to slam them very hard. 14) The heater does not work on one of the chairs or is very weak. 15) The upper doors with glass or windows have an excessive amount of caulking the was simply wiped off in the middle of the panel. 16) Many other cosmetic defects and poor workmanship After challenging the wall defects Grand Design said it was "normal" to see all the joints because of a process with the plywood...blah blah. They are covering themselves because they know they have a faulty bonding process. Grand design say they are above the rest, luxury trailers...They are not! Simply the same cheaply built units with nicer black and white finishes.Rating breakdown

A little disappointed
By Carl (I am an Owner) on May 18, 2018Purchased a 2018 Grand Design Imagine 2250rk in Jan 2018. Picked it up at our local dealer and headed to Florida for three months to get out of the winter. To make a long story short we had a water leak running down inside the bedroom wall from the shower and puddling on the bedroom floor.Got that fixed ... then noticed a water leak from the water lines underneath the bathroom sink.. fixed that with some Teflon tape and pliers. Also noticed the drain pipe on the sink was so crooked we were surprised it wasn’t leaking. Then had more water puddling on the bedroom floor and after pulling off the heat vent in the bedroom wall discovered the outside spray port mounted on that side was leaking. More Teflon tape and pliers to stop the leak. When the air conditioner was running water from the unit would run down between the awning and the trailer and when it rained it would do the same. Awning was actually pulling away from the trailer. The theater seating was bent on one side and caused a tear in the fabric. The electric fireplace we used to take the chill off on some cool mornings would tick and make a sound like a grandfathers clock whenever it was on. Cabinet door in bedroom was missing a screw in the hinge and one of the cabinet s on the side of the bed in the bedroom was starting to pull away from the wall. Two cabinet shelves were not attached properly on the inside and had to be repaired and the skylight in the bathroom had to be replaced. When we returned in March we took our unit back to the dealer and everything was repaired to our satisfaction and while in Florida Grand Design didhelp us locate a mobile repair service to fix the shower water leak and did promptly send us a reimbursement check for the repairs we had to pay out of pocket.while out of state Overall we really like our trailer and the floor plan is perfect for the two of us . Just really disappointed in all the items that didn’t work as they should have on a brand new unit. So much for the double inspection process before the unit rolls away from the factory. I did a lot of homework before I made this purchase hence my disappointment with all of the issues we have had so far. I will give Grand Design credit for standing behind their product and for all of the time they spent with me on the phone trying to get someone to respond to our location and fix the water leak during peak snowbird season. Their customer service reputation is one of the reasons why I purchased their productRating breakdown
