Destination Trailer/Keystone Residence
By Dawn Barnard (I am an Owner) on Dec 09, 2013Overall - okay. We have been in our trailer for 2 1/2 years. It is nice and spacious. We opted for the bunkhouse (extra bedroom) instead of extra living room space and still it is okay. (just okay, not perfect). I don't have too many complaints after having this trailer for this long, but here are some ... major downfalls... 1. The cabinets ARE SO HIGH! I am 5'7" and the cabinets above the kitchen sink, toilet, and pantry are of no use to me. A step stool works okay, but it is not sufficient for utilizing the space in the back parts of the cabinets. To reach the back of the cabinet requires me climbing on the counter on my knees. 2. There is very little counter space near the stove. There's the sink - then the stove. I'd like to be able to cut my vegetables, trim my meat, etc. and be able to place into my pan/pot/cooking items. 3. There's SO MANY DOORS IN THE BATHROOMS! If the shower door is accidentally left open and you want out of the master bedroom, you can be stuck. I have had to exit the bedroom door and come into the sliding glass door. You will learn strategies to deal with this. The biggest complaint about this trailer is the insulation. OH MY GOODNESS. We have our trailer in a colder climate and it is NOT and I repeat IS NOT designed for colder climates. The floors are EXTREMELY cold, you can feel cool drafts from the slides, and it does not maintain a regular temperature. The cold air and/or heat from the sun just SEEP into the windows and offer very little protection from the weather extremes. The same goes for the summer. We have relatively mild summers, but when the temperatures get in the high 70's to low 80's, this trailer becomes a complete oven. We struggle to keep it cooler than 75 or 76. The large window in the front is beautiful to look at but it holds moisture in the winter. Cold air just seeps into the bedroom through the window and in the summer the sun just BEATS on it. The shades work a little, but definitely not enough. What I recommend???? Get an optional winter insulation package. We have skirted the trailer and it helps a little. But the double-paned windows and extra insulation would pay for itself within a year or two. The good stuff: 1. NICE place for stackable, 110v washer/dryer 2. Full size sink 3. Full size residential fridge 4. Roomy bathroom and REAL toilet 5. Easy septic flush system 6. Huge awning - and it's electric! 7. Large water heater = nice long showers 8. Extra-large water/holding tank 9. Easy towing 10. King size bed in master. We removed the RV mattress and bought our own. The original mattress seemed of good quality though 11. Bunkhouse is roomy for overnight company. Visitors aren't crammed onto a twin or double mattress. FULL QUEEN bed! There are other things, but I can NOT (for the life of me) learn to live with the low insulation package. If you live in a mild climate, this trailer may be more than adequate for all seasons. But for us in the Pacific Northwest??? It was a huge mistake and we are very disappointed in our choice. The trailer is nice - but ask about the insulation and take that into SERIOUS consideration when making your purchase. Our trailer doesn't move and stays stationery at a lake. It is a great destination trailer, BUT, take the whole package into consideration.Rating breakdown

Nice but few inconveniences
By Dawn (I am an Owner) on May 23, 2011We just moved into our RV. Day one I noticed some issues while unpacking. 1. Shelves are VERY VERY high and unreachable. I am 5'7", but top shelves are totally unreachable by the average height individual. 2. Too many doors in the bathroom. They bang up against each other. Also the shower door hits ... the porcelain toilet. 3. Must use RV size mattress. We removed the mattress that came with the RV and put our own in there. There is no walking room. The mattress that was included was pretty low quality. 4. Can not reach some of the outlets in the kitchen/cooking area. 5. No good place to put toilet paper roll 6. Shelving in bathroom shower does not hold an average bottle of shampoo or bar of soap. Good things: Everything else except listed above which are really just inconveniences moreso than anything else. Storage is AWESOME. Lots of hidden storage in every room. Lighting is excellent. Ceiling fans are nice :) Dinette is of good quality and the quality of the interior walls/ceilings and fixtures is definitely better than average. The attached/included water filter is an added bonus. Very comfy, very roomy and overall --- definitely better than average. The electronic vent fan, and electronic awning = SUPER NICE AND CONVENIENT!!! By the way, it is easy to be the envy of the neighbors because this place just stands out from any 5th wheel or other trailer anywhere.Rating breakdown
