(2)By G. L. Wood (Owner) on Mar 14, 2011I purchased 5th wheel in August 2010 and by October I took it to a Keystone dealer for warranty work. I'm 350 miles the dealer where purchased, so I tried to have a Keystone dealer within 60 miles to do the warrant work and they would not because I did not purchase from them. So, another dealer 120 ... miles distance was very helpful. The main things that needed corrected was the (1) underbelly of the front half was sagging and this was corrected by installed 4 steel bars across to better support the belly area from sagging. (2). The grey and black tank labeling were reversed and that was corrected. 3. Vacuum system: outlet in storage compartment was disconnected. 4. Heating system: Very little heat coming through the two vents in living room and lot of heat come through vents in hallway and bedroom. Heat duct was shortened to living room, but did not help. Factory told me if there is not over 7 degree temp change from living room comparted to bedroom, then there is no heating problem of the vents. Apparently, heat venting system to living room is insufficient. Therefore, this was not corrected because the temp difference is less than 7 degrees. I have ended up using a electric heater in the living room. Item 1-3 were corrected. I felt the factory was very cooperative on the warranty for items 1-3 and the dealer doing the warranty work was super. Discovered later after the warranty work: 1. In the storage compartment in back of the thin plywood wall, there are large cracks by the water lines that lead to underneath between the steel frame and belly cover. Also, large round openings where the cables that adjust the openings of the black/grey tanks. I have done some insulating to keep the water pipes from freezing. 2. Heat vent for the storage compartment was blocked off and I connected. 3. Interior steps that lead to the hallway have two separate open vents that lead into the furnace area under the floor that causes lot of cold draft when the furnace is not running. Was told by the dealer that these vents are for a purpose so the furnace can get proper air circulation, therefore do not plug up these vents or it will cause the furnace to malfunction. There is still cold air drafts and nothing can be done to correct. There needs to be a better design. 4. Discovered later that this unit will not withstand real cold temperatures as the factory told me later it is not designed for temp below 30 degrees and to be used for short vacations only. We are using it in very cold climit area, so it is a problem. Dealer told us this unit would withstand very cold temp as it has a Alps package and heats storage area and pipes plus having extra installation. Dealer was very misleading. I suggest every one to do your home work on RV's to see how much they protect water pipes from freezing as there are other 5th wheels that have better protection features for cold and warm weather. I did not do good enough home work and learned a very expensive lesson.Read More

(2)By BARRY Bungenstock (Owner) on Jun 25, 2010I purchased a new unit and the first time out the air controller for the air conditoners did not work, also the handles that marked the black and grey water were marked wrong. Had to take back to have replaced. Now works fine.
