Great travel trailer for 2 people with 2 guests
By Benson (I am an Owner) on Jan 29, 2016We bought the 2015 Keystone 210 LHS January 2015. Space: Ceilings are tall so that a 6'2" guy has no problem standing up straight and walking around inside. Plenty of well configured storage in and under the unit. I still question why carpet was put in the front thru storage under the unit, but it can ... be changed out for a more water resistant material. The angled storage above the main bed is perfect for extra blankets, hats, shoes or anything you may need while lying in bed. The closet below the tv at the end of the dining table is my "broom closet" which is suprisingly tall and deep. I have tall doog food containers, typical broom closet inhabitants, and random items in this space. It has a nice hanging rod that can be used to hang other storage baskets on for additional storage or for hanging longer coats or the clothes of other guests (who could also store their put their clothes under the table benches). The bedside closets also are deep, but are not tall. A pair of pants or a mens shirt could not hang without also touching the bottom of the closet, but personally all of our camping clothes is folded anyway. We have an over the door rack on the bathroom door for our few items we hang. In the bathroom there is a little ledge over the rear tire that we have a basket sitting on for toilet paper and an over the door hook for holding your towel and fresh clothes for when you get out of the shower. Since space is limited we find this a best solution. Layout: I like the lavatory right outside of the bathroom so you always have access to your sink. The toilet is angled for plenty of legroom between you and the wall instead of your knees cramped against the door. Although the main bed is right when you walk in the door, it is surprising how much privacy you truly get with the curtain; truly surprising. There is space on either side of the main bed for you to place items such as a glass of water (recommend placing a book or other solid object on top of carpeted surface first), cellphone (plug ins are on both sides of the bed to charge overnight), book, magazines, reading glasses, etc... There is also a hinged opening on one bedside that drops into the front pass thru storage that is convenient for placing a laundry basket. At the end of the trip you pull the laundry basket out of the pass thru making at least one of the return home tasks easier. The rear under the unit storage is accessible by lifting up the corner of the bottom bunk. This can also be used to crawl in from the outside if you find your main door lock and rear storage open (I may be speaking from personal experience.) Top bunk folds away for more room in the back and option of not being stuck with an unusable bunk area. Can also use top bunk for storage but I have yet to need that or the under the bench storage as of yet (and believe me I try to find more to pack into the camper but still cannot fill up the current storage space). Plenty of windows for letting natural light in or airing out the camper. Blinds on all the windows along with the privacy curtains for the main bed and bunk beds can also provide a dark space for an afternoon nap. The outside front of the unit has a rock plate on the bottom and the unit color is not white on the front which helps keep a cleaner appearance for the dirty tow trips. Entertainment: Tv has a nice bracket on it that makes it easy to watch regardless of any glares or position you are in. The quick mount is super convenient to move the tv outside and plug the cable and power in to the smartly placed outside mount. Great move for tailgating or watching a little tv outside to enjoy both nature and modern convenience. The two speakers outside and speakers inside can be hooked up to the tv in addition to the radio for a surround sound experience. Our unit was supposed to have the DVD/radio/CD/MP3 player, but the non-DVD version was installed by mistake. We received a $100 gift card as an accomodation and chose to bring our PS4 when we travel to use for DVD instead, but the DVD would have been most convenient. The power awning can provide you all the shade you need and accompanied by an outdoor mat makes a nice area for entertaining outside the camper. Set-up: Easy. One person can do this truly. Park, lower the jack, place a few leveling blocks, use a drill to quickly drops four levelers in place, hook up water, electricity and sewer (if available) all with great ease. Utilities: A/C blasts cold air to cool off unit in no time. Heater is propane and is linked to the two propane tanks on the unit that can be set to operate off of one tank or linked to switch to the second tank once the first is empty (Tanks come with a nice cover that allows you to access the top of the tanks without removing the whole cover. There are two holes on the bottom underneath of the cover for strapping the cover down. I recommend using a miniture bungie cord which works perfect.) The oven runs off of the propane and has a pilot light to be lit each time you use the oven. I am picky about having big cooking space and I find the oven size very adequate for our camping needs. The refrigerator can work off of electricty or propane as well. There is enough room for a gallon of milk, yes a full gallon, due to the configuration of the fridge. The freezer is deep and has plenty of room for a weeks worth of food and a half gallon of ice cream; or just a few gallons of ice cream as your only food depending on your preference. Only one grey tank which is misleading since the inside panel has lights for two. Shower itself is more cramped than I would like as I prefer the angled shower, but it is mangeable for me much more than a 6'2" male. I suggest adding a hotel curtain rod to gie your elbows more room to move. Shower handle has a shutoff so you can set your water temperature and presurre and then not have to fool with it again until you turn it off. The pressure of the handle is better than some hotels I have been in. The hot water tank is large enough, but the conservation of the water using the handle shut off ensures everyone has hot water. Make sure you open the vent above the shower before showering otherwise your wallpaper may not last long as your bathroom will double for a steam room. There is a shower station with hot and cold water outside near black/grey tank area makes it nice to wash dogs feet, etc... May be more convenient to have the shower near the door on the opposite side of the camper, but then you would also have a lot of water wash from it so I ultimately agree with the placement. The kitchen sink has a deep sink and is meant for a wash/rinse method where you use one side for rinsing only. We have a collapsible over the sink drainboard that works well with this method and have had no problem with dish washing space. Toilet is porcelain and can use regular household toilet cleaners in it which is nice. The unit comes with a battery that provides lights, fridge, water pump, awning use, tv/radio as needed. The battery also charges while you are trailering as long as the tow lights are hooked to the tow vehicle. This is nice for keeping food in the fridge cold on longer drives. We use a Champion 75537i - 2800 Watt Electric Start Inverter Generator w/ RV Plug & Wireless Remote quiet generator when no electricity is available and it works beautifully for all components except I recommend not using the microwave and A/C at the same time. Turn the A/C off, use the microwave then turn the A/C back on. We go 6 hours on 1 gallon of gas (with A/C running in summer). The RV plug is convenient and the remote start allows you to be as lazy as you want to be. Beds: I find the bunk beds more comfortable than the main bed, but I have never slept in them all night. The main bed is a camper queen. I suggest purchasing a full size residential queen mattress and installing a larger plywood support for the extra 8" of leg room. We have not found that the larger mattress crowds the kitchen space and still allows room to walk around the bed. We have not used the dining table converted into a bed yet, but if need be it is very easy to convert. You truly can sleep 4 adults and 2 kids or 2 adults and 4 kids. It may get crowded in the bathroom and for eating, but if you do your activities (eat, play, relax) outside and only go inside for preparing food, use the bathroom and sleeping you can do it with privacy for everyone if you have an external grey tank or a sewer hook up at the site.Rating breakdown
